With the fall weather in full swing and a gazillion leaves on my lawn, I wanted to cut my grass one last time and in the process, cut up all the leaves that were on top of the grass. Somehow, while backing up the lawn tractor, a huge amount of heavy wet leaves managed to get under the mowing deck and when I engages the blades they were unable to turn because of the amount of leaves. Consequently, I burned up the belt. I ordered this new belt and it arrived in 2 days allowing me to finish my last mowing of the year. Easy install, belt fit perfectly.

I bought this less than 2 months ago, only mowed like 6 times with it, and within those 6 mowing sessions, it went from brand new to looking like this (see pic). As if that wasn't bad enough, the last time I tried mowing it literally snapped in half, something that the previous belts I've had have never done. I just got a new one from HD that was considerably pricier, but it's made in the USA and looks like it should massively outlast this piece of crap. Unless you want to replace your mower belt every 2 months or less, this is apparently not something worth cheaping out on. I'm not sure if it just couldn't handle the heat or friction or what, but it clearly isn't built up to spec for the demands of a mower deck.

I needed to replace the deck drive belt on my 17 year old Craftsman/Husqvarna YS4500 rider. I see that some people thought theirs did not last. I have used the mower this whole summer on my acre+ lawn and I have no complaints at all. I found a video on YouTube showing me exactly how to install the belt. It was a piece of cake for this older woman to do alone without removing the whole deck. Fifteen minutes tops, instead of waiting weeks for the tractor shop to get around to charging me a whole lot of money. Worth it to me!

Fitted my Husqvarna ride on side discharge perfectly but it’s not very strong. This belt would probably be ok for well maintained lawns but snapped after about 1 hour of mowing a 1 acre paddock this autumn. Had been waiting for weeks for a dry spell and the grass was obviously too tall so put too much of a strain on the belt even though I was cutting a maximum height.
