The best hair color
This does a great job coloring my hair. It is much better than the chemical hair colors. It doesn't burn the scalp and doesn't have a strong smell. My hair is coming in mostly white/grey, this does great to cover it and with beautiful highlights too. I have short hair and use half a box with 6 ounces of water and a tea bag leave it in for 1 hour 40 minutes heating it up every 10-15 minutes. I also bought a bonnet hair dryer to attach to my blow dryer. It was cheap and worked great to heat it. The time it takes to do this worth it. The color comes out great and totally non toxic. It's a win win!

I love this Henna!
I started using Henna 10 years ago because I have natural Auburn hair. I wanted to use a product that would cover my grey without changing the color of the rest of my hair. I didn't have much grey then, and if I used dye, whatever it touched would change. Red hair is challenging to get back if messed up. Henna allows using it on select pieces of hair without worrying about damage or changing the rest of your hair color. Also, henna doesn't lighten your hair. That is important to know. If you are going to use it on a dark hair color, and trying to go light it won't work. It doesn't lift your current color only enhances it. Or in my case blend my grey in with the rest of my hair. If you haven't used it before, be prepared. It is difficult to use at first until you get a routine going, but stick with it, henna is worth the hassle. There are many youtube channels dedicated to the application of it, look that up until you can figure out your own way. I buy hair dye brush applicators to help. It's natural, not chemical-based. You must be careful and read the ingredients to make sure no salts or other additives are included. That is one reason I love the Light Mountain brand, it's natural. My hair is soft and my curls are bouncy afterward, it doesn't strip my hair like other brands. I used to only use the fox box which is red. Sadly, my hair has gone more white in recent years as I am 50, so now I have blended the red with spicy cinnamon. If I don't blend, my hair comes out very electric on the white pieces because those white pieces grab color so well. I also add actual cinnamon to my mix. Light Mountain has a range of colors from light to dark, so much to choose from. Do not use it on hair that is continuously swimming in chlorine! It will turn green. I use a swim cap, I don't care how ridiculous it looks, it's worth not ruining my hair. I will use henna every 4 weeks as it fades away gradually. One box from this company will cover my scalp and my greys and white (shoulder-length) hair twice. I mix it up and what I don't use, I put in the freezer for the next application or if I feel I missed some. Love, Love, Love this company's product.

The best henna-perfect red shade
This is the best henna Iโve used. I mixed the henna with water and some apple cider vinegar and mixed to a paste in a plastic bowl (no metal anything with henna). It was drier than a pudding consistency. I covered it and left it in the dark pantry from about 11pm on a Saturday night until about 11am Sunday. I uncovered it and added some hot / boiling tension tamer tea (it has camomile in it and I didnโt have pure camomile) until it was a pudding consistency. I waited about 20 min then mixed it together one last time then started to apply it. I used a hair dye brush and started at roots and lifted up the hair as I went along, then when root area was done all over head (crown sides etc) I ran it down the lengths section by section until it was heavily coated. I piled it up on the top of my head and covered with the plastic bag they provided then on top of that I put a disposable clear shower cap over it all. I left it for four hours, and heated it with the blow dryer on low for a few minutes, maybe four times in that four hours. I then rinsed it very well, then I added a bunch of conditioner to my hair and rubbed it through to loosen any henna left behind. Then rinse that thoroughly. Oh I used gloves for the application and the rinsing out. It stains so very easily. It looks so so red. I started out medium auburn, with some lightening down the length. Itโs now very red with lots of pigmentation, itโs darker at my roots a bit since my roots were darker to begin with. But itโs lovely. I froze the left overs (enough for a root touch up). My hair is past bra strap length and had enough for my whole head and the leftover for a roots only use. I just did it last night and donโt plan to wash up until tomorrow night which will be about 48 hours. Iโm very happy with this. Iโll use it for good.

I especially love this brand
I really like this henna hair color! It gives rich, natural color and leaves my hair soft and healthy. Itโs a much better option than chemical dyes that can be harsh on your hair and scalp. Gentle, safe, and effective โ I definitely recommend it!

Worked well, but very short hair has a learning curve
This product did a nice job of giving my dark brown hair a distinctive red shine, even when not in natural light. The density of color isn't super consistent, but I suspect repeated applications over time will solve that. It didn't color my silver strands, which is just what I wanted. (In fact, it's why I used henna and not commercial boxed color). I mixed the mud pretty thick because my hair is under 1/2 inch long and I didn't want liquid running all over. It was easy enough to spread over the very short hair, but it turns out you have to kind of pinch the sections, rubbing the hair together, to get it to coat the hair itself well and not just color the skin on your scalp. After a second application in some key spots, the outcome was much better. I also found it tough to cover my hair entirely with the plastic cap they provide. An elasticized plastic shower cap will work much better. Then the hair dryer will warm all the hair without making it dry. That, too, helped with even-ness of the color the second time around. (I wrapped saran wrap around the temples of my glasses and slid them on, then put on the cap. That worked pretty well, saving my glasses from henna stains.) I also recommend using gloves that fit your own hands well. It's much easier to get the product right on the strands of hair if the fingers of the gloves aren't all floppy past your fingers. I wiped any spills right up immediately, and no surfaces ended up with any stains. That's a pro compared to most commercial boxed hair colors I've used. Good luck!

Satisfied with the results. Great at home option!
Works great! For reference, the hair in the before photo is normally a very dark blonde color that was bleached to be a lighter blonde and had blonde highlights mixed in . The results after henna on this hair was a nice deep vibrant natural red look. It also made the hair appear a bit thicker in my opinion. I donโt have any photos, but over the course of about a month it has darkened significantly on top to be more of an auburn color I think. Plan to dye it again soon, as the natural colored roots are starting to show anyways. This will hopefully bring the bright red pop back also.

Too orange!
Good product but... This colored well after an hour of application. It left my hair soft and shiny. But the color is hideous, a bright orange with yellow hues. My hair is naturally a very light auburn mixed with white. This is my second time trying red henna with same bad results. So if you have natural light red hair, I suggest just adding brown which is what I have to do because dying a bright or dark red just doesn't work! Unless you want to look like a clown. lol

Wonderful Colour, long lasting.
Light Mountain Henna - Colour : Red I have used this product for 3 years. I normally use 1/2 a packet for my medium length hair. It is easy to prepare - boil some water in a plastic jug in my microwave, (leave for 2-3 minutes to cool a bit) weigh out half the packet of henna powder into a small plastic bowl and add the water slowly, stiring with a plastic spoon to mix it thoroughly - fairly smooth and the consistancy of thick , slightly gritty yoghurt. It will thicken a bit as it cools, but I always make enough boiled water to add a liitle bit later if it thickens too much. I apply it to my hair myself - using a brush designed for applying colour to hair (plenty available on the internet). I devide the hair in sections and apply to the roots, and up the hair shaft a bit. Takes about 10 mins . Then I apply more henna to the rest of my hair and massage it through (like applying shampoo), plaster my hair away from the hairline and put the plastic bag onto my head, from back to front, twisting at front and securing with a clothes peg at the top of my forehead. I wear the plastic gloves and an old t-shirt during the application. I then carry on doing stuff in the garden, or around the house . After 3-4 hours I rinse it off (kneel by bath and use shower spray), then apply some conditioner, massage in, and re-rinse. I then towel dry my hair and leave it to dry. Before applying I always wash my hair first, (no conditioner). I apply the henna to damp hair. The resulting colour is superb - a vibrant deep copper red that softens slightly over a couple of days. My hair is very grey - very grey/white roots but this covers the grey/white completely. I only have to re-apply when the roots start to show again. This is much better than salon colour. It lasts much longer and is much cheaper. My hair looks shiny and in good health.

Be careful it is one pack item not four packs as shown in the advertisement.
The Henna was received on time and was well packed. However, the advertisement image indicates 'Pack of 4,' and the description states that the number of items is 4 with a unit count of 4 ounces. Unfortunately, we only received one pack, and it was not returnable. This was misleading and overpriced for a single pack.

works great, nice tone
been using hennas for 10yrs and have naturally medium red/auburn hair. i first used it to go back to my natural colour and stay there..also love how conditioning henna is. im 43 and now my natural red is fading more and more..tbis works great to revive. i got the "Red". it gives a deep red/copper on my hair. i do notice it deepen after a day or 2 after application. i dont use any metal for preparation, im not sure if it would matter (ive used metal to boil the water with other hennas with no issue). i leave it on around 2hrs and then rinse. i try not to wash my hair for 2 days afterward. this brand dyes things very quickly (like my arms or floor if i get drips) the smell is minimal compared to other brands ive tried. i add coconut oil to my mix as well. overall..happy and have repurchased a couple times and will again.

I am converted.
I am converted to henna thanks to this product. I've been dyeing my hair with box dye for around 30 years, and lately it has really been damaging my hair. I recently tried Herbatint and it made a lot of my hair fall out and generally trashed my hair. I decided to try Light Mountain because I have too much grey to go undyed but wanted something gentler and safer. This product is amazing. I mixed it up, let it sit for 2 hours then applied it and let it develop for 4 hours. When I washed it out my hair was bright orange (the orange panic stage), but then it deepened to a beautiful rusty red over the next few days. Over a month later and the colour is still vibrant, which I have never experienced before with a red dye. My hair feels lovely. What an amazing product.

So far, so red
It's been three days since I first used this so I can't speak to the longevity of colour or anything just yet. But this is my first time using henna and I am totally in love with the colour. They say the colour oxidises around 48 hours after dying but I can't say I've noticed any difference from the initial day one vibrancy. In short, this is the ginger colour I've always wanted. I paid 200โฌ in the salon to get this colour professionally but a) it never had that deep, natural authenticity to it, and b) the vibrancy was gone after one wash. Before I used the henna it had been 6 weeks since chemically dying. I have mid-brown hair naturally but most of my hair had been bleached and dyed over and was a dark blonde/ light ginger. My roots were the natural brown of course. On the lighter lengths of my hair I got a deep orangey red. On the roots, it's still a deep orangey red, just a little darker. But it gives an almost ombre effect. I'm glad because I'm so over bleaching and chemical dying at this point. I was worried that my natural hair wouldn't show the colour but that wasn't the case. I didn't bother with a strand test as I knew from the pictures that you can expect a coppery, foxy red, just at different degrees depending on your base colour. I only added 3 tablespoons of white vinegar to help with the dye release and, as they say on the instructions, to bring out more coppery tones. I have read a lot about adding paprika or coffee etc etc to achieve different variations in colour but in my opinion, it's just common sense that these ingredients contain no dye so I don't see how they would make any visible difference to the colour. I also followed the instructions and only let the henna sit 30 minutes after mixing before applying. I left it on my hair for 3.5 hours. It says it doesn't need curing and I would say that's right. Just keep it simple in my opinion. Also, the brand is right when they say you only need one box. My curly hair, when stretched, is only three inches above waist-height - pretty long - and I mixed a box and a half just in case. I ended up wasting that half. I think it's all down to consistency. If it's too thickly mixed, of course it won't cover as much of your hair. It's messy but really no big deal if you mix the right consistency and just cover everything with newspaper before doing the dirty work.
