It looks like it was built cheap compared to the one I had before but I tell you it works great no brainer comes with hardware EZ to install pulls my boat right up , only used it a couple of times will update after the season in December

The low Gear ratio has no problem, pulling the boat up on the trailer.Looks clean and matches the boat

Bought a boat from a guy, and he had recently replaced the winch (within the last 3 years) with this same brand. Might have been the salt environment, but the strap failed on me this season (thankfully not on the highway or anything).This was an exact replacement, so for the price I can’t really complain. Just be prepared if your boat gets a lot of use!

We purchased three of the hand crank winches to first assist the installation of 300 lb 8”x 8” wooden posts. We set the first post by hand and quickly realized there had to be a better way. The hand crank made it easy to safely lift the posts and slide into the holes. Once all the posts were in place, we used the three cranks to raise a Sunsetter awning into place. Very durable. Easy to use. Safety latches made it perform well.

Winch was a little difficult to install because one of the bolt holes is located directly under the drum which is hard to maneuver a bolt into place. The gear teeth on the drum sheared off and deformed on the third use of the winch. Looks like poor metal quality or lack of sufficient hardening.Direction selector seems sketchy as it relies on an off-angle spring to hold the lever in the engaged position. Often the spring does not slide all the way to the end of the slot, which doesn't hold the winch in gear, falling back to the free-spinning position.High and low speeds are achieved by unbolting the handle and moving it to the other shaft, which is not practical in the field. User must preemptively decide which position to use the winch in when installing. Additionally the bend in the lever is not large enough to clear the other speed's shaft. The shafts had to be filed down for clearance to allow the handle to free spin without contacting.Will be upgrading to the more expensive, but same capacity Fulton winch, which has multiple gear plates stacked for redundancy and a better shifting mechanism.

The winch works perfectly as expected. Great value and sturdy. I would recommend it.

Bought as a replacement of a 1800# cable winch for my pontoon trailer, this 3500# strap winch has almost double the weight rating and should not have failed on literally the 3rd use, trailer and winch stored in my pole barn so it wasn't exposed to the elements, very disappointed, and sad that I'm out of the Warranty

Pulls my boat up easy and strong, two gear settings are ok, but sometimes a bit difficult, but this defiantly serves its job.

Works well and easy to setup. Great length on strap and clip is really sturdy.
