Works as advertised!
After a few days of struggling with walking the golf course, this item did the trick. I had sever pain in the ball of my foot, and had done multiple searches on what I would need to help correct that. After finding these, and reading all of the reviews and advice, I pulled the trigger. I am very happy I did. Yes, the "adhesive" doesn't work. At all. However, I don't think that it is meant to. You got them in the proper place, and they stay there just fine. Its a little work, and, if you want them to be in the permanent spot, then use super glue.

Good Luck Figuring Out Where To Place Them
These are small, self-adhesive, free-floating, inserts you are meant to place precisely correctly on your own, inside of your shoe. Trouble is, it is quite literally impossible to do this. You must simply guess correctly the first time, period. They are much smaller than the insole itself. The instructions advise not exposing the adhesive but first trying out where to put the thing to figure out the fit and placement. Which, again, is not possible with your foot in the shoe. I’m not sure who these are for because, due to the impossibility of measuring where to place them, they are useless. An utter waste of time and money. They must all wind up in landfills?

BYOA: Bring Your Own Adhesive
The pads themselves are great, what isn't great is the weak adhesive they put on these pads. I bought two pairs and all four pads would not stick to any surface. It's such a poor adhesive, they would've been better off not applying anything to the pad and telling the customers to do it themselves. I got some super glue and glued the pads to my inserts and that seems to be working pretty well, I suppose you could also use velcro tape but the fact is, you're going to have make it stick yourself.

Sew them onto the insole if the adhesive is too weak
I play pickleball and recently my feet have been acting up and I occasionally get pain. I started using these pads in addition to strengthening and massaging my foot muscles, and the pain has disappeared completely. I believe these pads are very effective. However, the adhesive is very weak and they don't stick to the insoles at all, so I had to sew them on by hand. That's why I gave a 4 star. After attaching them with thread, they doesn't move around inside the shoe and can be used without any problems, however. Placement of these pads is extremely important. If you don't sew them close to the arch (not at the base of the toes or the metamarsal area), it will put stress on the metamarsal area and cause more pain, so be careful when deciding where to place them. I initially bought these at my local CVS and they cost over $15/pair, so it's much cheaper to buy them on Amazon.

Cured my metatarsalgia!!
After overdoing treadmill and elliptical machine in my old running shoes, I began having metatarsal pain in my left foot. It got to the point where even wearing cushioned slippers was not enough to prevent the pain. At first I used gel cushions under the ball of my foot, which seemed to help but these things were what really did the trick!! I was skeptical, not really thinking that wearing a cushion behind the area I was experiencing the pain would help... but I was so wrong!! These things allowed me to continue moderate cardio as i healed, and after a couple weeks all pain was gone even without the inserts!! Be sure you place them in the correct position behind the ball of your foot but before your arch. They DO NOT go underneath the ball of your foot like a cushion! They work by spreading your toe bones out and need to go just behind the ball of your foot. I also use arch support inserts and stuck these babies onto the end of them so I was able to wear both my heel/arch support insert and these things at the same time. In the beginning they do take some practice to get into the right position and then getting them to stay while you put your foot into the shoe. I loosened my laces all the way so I could be sure I placed them in the right position. Then I very carefully slid my feet in while holding onto the pad under my foot. I stood and tied my laces. I never had them move around as I wore them, whether I was jogging or doing the elliptical, etc. The first few times they did want to scoot around as I took my shoes on and off so I would reposition it and hold it in place when putting my feet in. But the more I wore them the more they stuck. After a few times, they stayed in place on their own but I can still take them out if I want. Whatever the bottom stuff is, it doesn't feel very sticky, but it works. Love these things!!! Just read the directions and watch a YouTube video if necessary to ensure you wear them correctly and to see tips!

Not sticky enough to stay in place
Despite my best attempts to prepare my shoe, I could not get these to stick or stay in place. They were very hard to position correctly in the first place then moved as soon as I put my foot in the shoe. I think the only way to use these would be to sew them in between two layers of socks somehow.

Dr. Scholl's ball of foot insoles
So far so good....got them today (3-30-26).... I wasn't expect them till tomorrow.... anyway...... very difficult to make sure they are on the insoles I already had and I still don't think I have them on right...they have to be near your ball of foot precisely..... maybe I was just over thinking it....IDK🤷 I guess it's too soon

These work for ball of foot pain
I was limping badly from pain in the ball of my right foot when I spotted these in a local store. I bought a pair of these and after using them for a day, the pain was gone. My local pharmacy has stopped stocking these so I buy them through Amazon. The most difficult part is getting these positioned in exactly the right spot in my hiking shoe. With my hand and the pad both in the hiking shoe, I can't see what I am doing and so have to go completely by feel. It took a few tries to get it right, but when positioned correctly it works to relieve my foot pain. The pad tends to move when removing my shoe, and so most mornings I have to reposition it. This pad puts pressure on a spot just behind the ball of your foot, and so at first it is uncomfortable, but after wearing it a little while I don't notice that and the pain in the ball of my foot is gone.

I’ve been putting up with terrible pain in my feet for months now. I have always had flat feet. Some people only have no longitudinal arch. I also don’t have the transverse arch - never have. And now I’ve developed bunions because of this. I saw these and thought I’d give it a try before having to invest in orthotics. The problem with orthotics is that I work from home and so very seldom wear shoes (I know lucky me-not as much as you’d think). So I thought I’d actually tape these on the bottoms of my feet for around the house. Voila! My feet felt better within days. So now I’ve ordered more to actually stick in my shoes.
