Q: We might use this for our drum majors, who are using batons in conducting on the field. How sturdy is the case, and can it be attached to a uniform?

The case is a meshy fabric and is pretty sturdy as long as it isn't purposefully bent. I suppose it could be attached to a uniform by adhesive velcro strips you could buy at the store. If you want something for them to store it in that is one thing, but it does not have very quick access with two flaps to unvelcro before getting the baton. If you want to use this with your drum majors, I would recommend attaching it to either their arm or lower leg (somewhere that it won't bend).

Q: What does "nylon duck covering" mean?

It's a type of duck fabric, the threads are more tightly woven than regular nylon.

Q: Will the 16" case hold my 12 and 14" batons, or is it a little big for that?

Good Morning: YES...!!! The 16" tote will hold ALL batons up to 16" in length. While it is designed four 4 batons, it can actually hold up to 8 batons when the grips are place at opposite ends.

Q: I order one of these cases and there is a point in the spine where it bends completely, is there suppost to be a break in the spine?

I would not think so. The one we have is not broken at all.
