I've owned a Miele vacuum near 30 years, with regular maintenance and works like a charm! I helped sell a couple of these vacuums from a local dealer as I had friends and family who showed interest.

The pictures below confirm that original Miele filters are now being shipped, and that your filter will turn black if you are vacuuming A LOT. As a non-smoker who constantly battles smoke exposure in North Carolina, I use my Miele Classic C1 Olympus vacuum several times a week because I can’t tolerate even a trace of smoke smell in my house. When my first Miele filter turned pitch black after one month, I thought smoke that seeps in from the neighbors’ would ruin my house soon! A kind and knowledgeable local Miele dealer sent this explanation: "The black material on your filter is caused – primarily – from the carbon brushes that are in the motor and are a normal part of the operation of your motor. Is it normal for it to be that dark in a month? No, but we can’t check the motor brush length on the Miele motors (because of the design) so there’s nothing to worry about for the time being. You do have a 7 year motor warranty so if your motor does wear out prematurely then it would typically happen before 7 years. To answer your question about smoke, if some were to have entered your vacuum cleaner intake, you would smell it In the filter and the bag. In other words, they would reek with that foul smoke odor." I am still vacuuming just as often to keep the house really clean. It was a relief to see extra Miele filters on Amazon so I could “feed my habit” and change out the filter before a box of bags was finished. The filters I received were just as thick and puffy as my used original filter. The reason the used filter looks quilted is that the plastic rectangular piece that presses the filter down has that quilted pattern. There is a shiny rim on the used filter because I cut it too small by mistake, so I had to scotch tape the rim back on. Always insert the filter as is to test it first. If you find out it’s too small, THEN you can cut it to size.

Fits our machine. Return customer. Enough said.

I’m sure there are probably some close seconds when it comes to buying filter media for the Miela. However, I’d rather have the peace of mind using the genuine bags and motor filters that are designed by Miela’s engineers. These vacuums are an investment. Why cut corners, or take chances on the longevity, to save a few dollars? That being said, I’m all for trying out aftermarket attachments, (so long as they fit properly). I found a horsehair wood floor attachment for about 1/3 of what Miela charges for the exact same type of flooring attachment.

Miele's vacuum cleaner is a good brand but the accessories or supplies one needs to use and/or change are expensive. Therefore I buy similar accessories or supplies and pay less.

Perfect factor fitment, I only wish the secondary filter (the one on the inside next to the bag) was included in the box. But I guess that would be a little too much.

Ho preso questi sacchi per la Miele di mia madre, in negozio erano quasi impossibili da trovare, invece ovviamente su Amazon come al solito li ho trovati subito, sono ottimi, funzionano perfettamente e il prezzo è adatto al prodotto
