Either I got a defective kettle or the seller's use of "about" in "about 5 minutes" is misleading. I tested my old electric kettle from a different maker and it boils 1.4 L in 5.5 minutes. I will be returning the kettle. **Q: Is it BPA free?** A: Hello, This glass kettle is BPA free, we have passed related certificate by third party. You can email us at service_usa@aigostar.com to get the certificate if you need. **Q: It says cordless but some of the reviews are dissing the cord management. Why is this?** A: The base is attached to a cord that's pretty thick and unyielding and 24" long. I tucked my cord in a space between the counters so it's out of the way. The kettle itself lifts off from the base and is cordless so filling it and pouring from it is very easy.
