Q: What would you recommend for the size of branch is needed to attact it to?

Nothing less than 5” across. Mine is on a swing set frame and I’ve been on it. I’m 215.

Q: Why is it so wobbly? Every time son gets in it he falls out?

Not sure what you mean “wobbly “ but mine is very secure. Now that said you have to use real tools to tighten up all the fasteners not those that were included. I put that in my review. You do have to hold on to the ropes due to the spinning/twisting nature of the swing. I hung mine on one strap so it would spin more. The kids love it. I even got on it and let them spin/swing me and I’m 215. Check your fasteners for tightness.

Q: What is the shortest the straps will go? I want to put this hanging from a dome climber

I returned it, as the arc of the swing would not work with our trees. I wonder how that will be affected inside the climber. Not sure it will work

Q: Can I hang this from just one rope ( mechanism) from center?

I imagine you could buy a larger carabiner or hook of some sort & hang it from one hook unless that interferes with the swinging, twirling part of the swing itself? The video seems to show one central hook at the top .
