I sleep in mine just fine - easier to sleep on one side (v. back or tummy). I didn't wear mine to bed in the beginning, but tried it one night and felt very supported. Everyone is different - the band itself is soft enough.

Q: Where exactly are you supposed to measure to determine your size? This is supposed to sit on your hips under your belly not around it.

I originally measured around belly, big mistake. It was too big for me to wear so I literally had to wait to wear this until I eight months because I did not get as big as I thought I would. If I had the money I would have purchased two sizes small and medium and I would definitely measure under belly. You need to make sure its nice and snug so it can help lift up and relieve the weight off your pelvis. This is so comfortable and it's adjustable.

I usually wore a tank top and the the band. It is soft so it should be comfortable next to the skin.

Q: Large size 14 pants hysterectomy big enough?

I don't understand the question?? You wear a 14 and had a hysterectomy and want to know if this would fit? I think yes for sure it would fit, but I'd buy a binder, not this particular belly band because it is made to support a pregnant belly, not a surgical incision.
