By using the bottle cap and only pouring up to the second line at the bottom, the foam you get from swishing does not overtake your mouth. For me the foaminess is a sign that it's doing the job of freshening and whitening, but that's just my opinion. It is minty, but to my tastebuds . . . the baking soda makes it a little flat tasting. For many moons, I have been using a Baking Soda toothpaste and tastes very good (doesn't foam). I will continue to use Amazon Basics mouthwash as it doesn't bother me because I know what I'm tasting, I'm okay with it, and the foam. I may post later about adding this mouthwash to help whiten my teeth a little bit more than just by using the toothpaste. For that first use, don't take a big swig.
