Yes, I imagine you could. The table includes "screw locks" on both legs to hold in place whatever angle you have chosen for the table - straight up or straight across or in between.

Will this hold 24x36 (Arch D) drawings, or does the rail mean the drawing hangs over the top?

The surface of the table is 24X36. If you remove the pencil holder, I guess technically your 24X36 (Arch D) would fit. This is a great and sturdy table and I love mine but if that’s the size drawings that you are doing; I’d say get a bigger table.

Could you add casters so it could roll?

I think that would work. Depends upon how long the caster shafts are in relation to the depth of support base.

Is this actual hardwood or simulated?

Absolutely real wood! A very nice piece.
