New Balance Mens 574 V1 Lace-up

The color was great, even better than shown, and the quality was exactly what I've come to expect from New Balance; the sizing and width were spot-on, and my husband found them comfortable and wearable right out of the box. It's often tough to find wide sneakers that are also fun and attractive; these were the perfect solution.

I purchased these about a year an a half ago and they've really held up well. I wear them probably 3-4 days a week over this period and they've wore really well. Still have loads of tread, still super comfortable. The material over the toe is pretty thick, so these are fine when riding my motorcycle too. I plan on buying again in another year or so.

Edit for 2016 - I wrote this review in 2013 when I bought these shoes. Worn them casually for 2 years and 3 months - 27 months. I didn't even realize... Anyway - obviously great shoe and they did end up stretching to fit. As I said in 2013 - now looking for new ones. I like the color - I've bought the shoes in store before which is why i purchased online. It seems their wide selection is very limited to non-existent (or at least not in stock at the moment.) Since my shoes were ripped through I bought these for the haste factor and will just stretch them out as I've done before. Will probably get another pair when these wear out - hopefully by then there'll be wides available.

I really like these shoes. My feet are wide and I walk in a strange way but these have been really comfortable for the past few weeks. The material is what first attracted me but now I just love having them on. They hug my feet and don't feel like they will accidentally come off. Getting them on and off is easier than with my other shoes. They look great and (in special situations) might be able to pass as acceptable dress where other sneakers would be too casual

Only three stars since they were too small and I couldn't wear them, and of course they are not available in the next size up. They do look nice! These fit like they were a full size too small; I wear a 15D. When I compared them to another New Balance shoe, though a different model, they were 3/4" shorter overall. I contacted New Balance via their live chat and asked about it and was told there will be some variation in size, though internal dimensions on the shoes should be pretty similar. I took the soles out of the different shoes to compare and they were identical, however the soles from the new shoes were curved and squished like they didn't fit in the shoe properly. Not sure what the issue actually is here, but I am ordering a size 16D in a 574 of a different design and will see how it compares.

These are excellent shoes; I wear them almost every day for serious walking, strolling about town and just hanging out at home. They are my second pair of New Balance 574s -- the first pair is still going strong after several years of use. So, I'd say, buy them with confidence, with one caveat... I find that New Balance sizes run a little small, so I get a half size larger. It works for me, but your mileage may vary. Maybe it would be worthwhile to buy your first pair at a local shoe store to determine your size, then order subsequent pairs online. That's what I do, and the sizes haven't varied among New Balance styles.

Shoes fit just right. I usually wear size 12 with others brands but with NB, depending on the shoe it’s a 12/13. I used to own a size 12 in this exact same shoe but had to give them to a buddy because they were too small. Finally found them in size 13 after like 2 years of looking. They fit great, and I’m a happy camper now. I also got them delivered to my hotel in Phoenix. I was down from Canada for a visit and they arrived a day after I got there. Sometimes stuff works out as planned. 👍🏽👍🏽

Awesome pair of shoes. I have only worn them 3 or 4 times and have gotten compliments each time I have worn them. They do seem to run a bit small but that might just be my feet. I probably should have waiting until my size had a wide option available. I am sure they will stretch out after a few more wears though. Overall, I love them.
