Brilliant for older people
My 78 year old mum has always had a basic phone that calls and texts and was anti iPhones, however, having been hospitalised she was no longer able to use the small keys and the lack of WiFi meant her phone wasn’t working in the hospital where there was no reception. I was dubious about her reaction to this phone but she loves it. She has adapted to using it quickly, the tutorial is really helpful, the full keyboard makes it easier for her to text and I am hugely impressed with it for the price. Both of us are very happy with this product.

Perfect for technofobes
ProsEasy to setup and simple to use even for the novice mobile user.ConsNo wireless charging and it won't fit the charging cradle unless you buy the Doro case.

A great basic android phone for my great aunt!
I have just finished setting this phone up for a close family member over 90! I'v been very impressed with the additional software and features Doro have added to this basic Android phone. While i don't think she could have set it up herself, for the scenario where a somewhat tech savy person is going to do the initial setup, I would highlight recommend.Doro have added a customised home screen, widgets and apps which making using the phone very easy and straight forward, as well as improving the menus and setup for increasing the size of fonts or icons. The plus pack comes with everything you will need, a case, screen protector and charging stand which can hold the phone without removing the case. The phone itself is a low end spec, and can be a little slow if your used to iPhone's ect, however, for this use case its perfectly fine.

Great phone
Bought this for my elderly mum and it was honestly perfect. You just need to make sure you are there for the setup and to help teach them how to use apps etc. If they've never used a smart phone before. You can set massive icons on the desktop so they can access WhatsApp easily. Sound quality on the mic and speakers was fine, battery didn't seem amazing however. Fast phone, it's a bit big for someone who is learning as they can struggle with hand placement but the big screen size is also an advantage.

Ok
Nice phone, but not what we thought. Icons really big and clear, but for my mum who is visually impaired the font didn't go large enough for her to see. But overall good phone. But unfortunately I have to return it!

Not intuitive or easy to set up.
This is supposed to be a simple phone for older people to use. I bought it for my husband who only had a basic phone as I thought it would be easy for him to use.It is not simple at all, and not intuitive. My 24 year old grandson, clearly a phone expert at that age, borrowed it and said it was really odd to use.The sound is not very loud and we usually have to put it onto speaker phone.I am seriously thinking of replacing it.

First smartphone for 86 year old grandma.
Bought this for my grandmother who up until now has had the same brand phone but with basic buttons. Us grandchildren wanted to be able to text her and send her photographs easily as well as join her to family Whatsapp groups.Firstly the phone is beautiful and well packaged with a charger and a good information leaflet. Its similar in size to other smartphones but once on the letter size and apps etc are larger than most.My Grandmother found it very overwhelming at first as it was scary for her to use a touch screen and open apps to find texts and contacts etc. She wont search the internet on it and only uses the basic apps. The way contacts are stored is a bit confusing as is how you go about finding messages etc. The camera is great, just as good as my more modern smartphone but again my grandmother finds it hard to find the photos once she has taken them. Overall I would say it took her a month or so to work out but now she is enjoying it. If she wasn't surrounded by younger more tech able people she probably would have sent it back immediately as it does need explaining and troubleshooting every time they come across something that they don't understand. She chooses not to use the safety/emergency call button as she has one that goes round her neck anyway so she would use that in an emergency.
