Retrospec Beaumont City Bike - 7 Speed

The style & color caught my attention first especially since I was looking for a touring type bike ! The stylish matte black bike and white tires makes this a one-of-a-kind bike in my mind especially in my small town. Seven speeds is more than enough for me considering I don't plan on entering the Tour De France ! Price wise was great along with assembly. The metric values, however, should be converted to the imperial system. BTW, The tires are 28 inch x 1-3/8 inch. My first NEW ride in all of my 60 years of riding and I love it. BTW, I'm 6'-2" tall so this was a perfect choice for me ! Thanks Retrospec !!

The bikes look pretty’s nice. However, the assembly of the bike is troublesome and time consuming. The assembly manual book is difficult to read. I wish there was a step by step video showing the installation. Additionally, the front fender does not fit which makes you bike stuck onto one side. In the end, I took it off which ruins the aesthetic of it since functionality was important. Definitely a disappointment and unpleasant experience with the installation and features but the bike rides fine (without the front fenders). Nothing special.

Aesthetically, the bike is gorgeous but the wheels aren’t good. Ended up searching for wheels because the wheels on a 54 inch frame from this brand only holds 156lbs which is unheard of. Figured if I’m already spending maintenance money when I got it 3 days ago it’s not worth it.

Bikes are very poorly constructed! I wish I had done more research on this company before purchasing as I found multiple complaints. Bike continues to present multiple issues after professional assembly and company has an impossible return policy. Take your business elsewhere - pretty bike with NO utility. Not worth the aggravation.

Bent parts on the chain mechanism would not allow it to switch gears. Unable to ride it. It's a shame because it was a very nice bike for the price. Returned with no problem and was refunded.

This bike is so cute! I love the aesthetic, which is why I purchased it. I don't do much besides ride around my flat neighborhood so I figured a cheaper bike is fine and this was priced perfectly. The shipping and ordering process was amazing, i got it in a few days- I ordered from the website directly. The directions are terrible they really don't help much, you just kind of have to wing it. They provide you with items you don't even need and its confusing. As it ships to you, it comes kind of dinged up because the metal they use is really thin and cheap. The pieces don't really line up exactly so you have to mess with it and it snot in perfect alignment to the wheels. I truly would not have minded the cheap factor for the bike, since I did order an inexpensive bike-- i cant expect the best quality. But what really really gets me is the functionality. The pedals have bad placement to the large tires. Every single time you turn it it hits your feet and you nearly fall over. The wheels cant turn properly and its super annoying while riding it. I wouldn't buy it again personally for that reason.
