The Right Fight: How to Live a Loving Life

John Kennedy Vaughn is truly someone of wisdom. You can tell by the words he’s written that he is a man after God’s heart. This book means more to me than words could explain. I read it in a time where I desperately needed to hear the truth about this world & about love. It helped me out of such a difficult time & has truly altered the way I view the world, how loved we really are, & how we should love everyone around us. It taught me how to truly & selflessly love others & I recommend this book to every single person in the world.

I really enjoy this book. I've started it multiple times, not because it's a boring read, but because I want to take notes and I never have my notebook and pen ready. He has an Instagram channel that is great and he references his book, this book. The reason I bought it is because he has a natural and humble way of breaking things down for someone like me, who didn't grow up with scripture. I grew up with church, if that makes any sense. The author is super down to earth and doesn't do a thee and thy rhetoric. He talks and writes like you're in a conversation with him. Buy this book if you want to know what Jesus means about anything. This guy isn't a preacher, he speaks out of his garage wearing a cap. He is really sharing some good stuff and I am SO glad I finally bought this book! I listen to You Tube sermons with a few people and Kenny Vaughn is someone I rotate in my arsenal of my layperson theology at home bible study.. lol. You will really get alot out of this book. I highly recommend it as a Top 5, on the nightstand.

This is one of those books that transformed my life and my whole outlook on life and how I lived in the past. It has significantly improved me in so many ways. I recommend it to everyone I know especially newlyweds. I only wish I would have found it sooner.

This book was helpful for me in recognizing destructive patterns. There is always a root. I think back on, and refer to lessons I’ve learned from it often.

Please know that if this is your first time reading or hearing this, you won’t understand it immediately: If it’s not love, it’s fear.Think about it, pray about it, and read your Bible. God created us to love selflessly. NOT to love ourselves. “Love your neighbor as yourself” does not mean to love yourself first in order to love your neighbor. This commandment means that we are able to love others selflessly because of the love that flows through us from God.So don’t fall for the lie that “you have to love yourself before you can love others”. That is selfishness and that is fear.I have been saved for over 2 years now, and Kenny’s messages along with his book “The Right Fight: How to Live a Loving Life” have really helped me in my pursuit to know what true, selfless love is.

Having knowledge of biblical doctrine and theology is one thing, but to truly understand the heart of God is to understand his love for us. How did Jesus sum up the law? First he said to love God with all your heart, mind and soul. Second is to love your neighbor as you love yourself. What's the key word? love. To me this book is an essential because it captures the essence of what Christianity is about....love. 1 Corinthians 13:2 states it best,"If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a ringing gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have absolute faith so as to move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and exult in the surrender of my body, but have not love, I gain nothing.…What this book does is give you a better understanding of what love is and isn't.

Would recommend for all to read. I didn't truly understand what it was to love until I read this. It has taught me so much.

I bought a piece of jewellery from John Kennedy Vaughan's outlet and was really happy with it. Then the newsletters started coming in. I found myself touched by many of them and increasingly intrigued so eventually I bought the book. I wish I'd done it sooner. This book has really helped me to understand the difference between the fruits of love and the management of myself as a loving Christian. It's scripturally backed and simply written, highly effective and downright beautiful. It has made a difference not only to me but to others I have talked to about it. They understand the concepts readily and have come back wanting copies of the images of the fruitful and fruitless trees - those where our roots nurture the health of our tree of life and love and those that will kill off our fruit, and the quality of both our life and ability to love. It is incredibly freeing to take responsibility readily for myself rather than wanting everyone else to change and It is helping me to make my life's garden truly peaceful and lovely.

I became aware of the author via Instagram - a simple, authentic, kind guy who shoots little videos on life's big and small questions from his garage (which is remarkably tidy). To this day, I've never asked if he belongs to a particular religious community (he's certainly not a Catholic like me). But that makes no difference at all. He reflects daily issues and struggles in the mirror of general Christian values and common sense. He is credible, not missionary and stands for what he stands for. He shares his views and life experience with all the ups and downs. And this all is wonderfully summarized in his book. The language is simple, emotional and endearing. "The right fight" touched me very much. I enjoy reading it again and again.

The Right Fight has made a huge impact on how I perceive and my understanding of love. It’s made me put things back into perspective and made me aware of certain behaviours that I do and/or used to that were going against living a loving life. You think you know what Love is, but wait until you read The Right Fight. There is so much more depth and nuances of love that are wonderfully explained and illustrated in this book. I have followed Shields of Strength on Instagram for a long time and it has helped me so much to push through in life. The Right Fight inspires to pursue a loving life and show you how you can do so through Kenny’s anecdotes and experiences which are highly relatable. Since reading it, I am a lot more loving, open minded, forgiving, selfless and less quick to judge in all aspects of my life. You will feel at peace once you finish reading the book and actively try to better your life by following a loving life.

I just wanted to say THANK YOU for changing my life! I underwent a health trauma a couple years back and I was deteriorating daily because of it. I realized that fear of getting sick again has killed my roots and I was not able to bear fruit. I was destroying myself and I couldn’t figure out why. Your book made me realize that I wasn’t living love I was living fear ( although Covid has really been tough also!). You give me the strength to see that I can change with Gods love and by loving others. The words of the Bible have not come together this well for me, but with your book it all makes PERFECT sense!
