If you aspire to professional status, you soon realize missing "The Shot" is not an option. Any shot is a set of compromises between aperture, shutter speed, lighting, time to set composition.... and so on. Lets talk about compromises in equipment. The 58 MM Professional Accessory Kit for Canon EOS Rebel is basic. There is Cheap, Inexpensive, Premium, and Overpriced. This Kit is in the Inexpensive category. Digital Goja's addition of a tulip flower lens hood, safety cap and magic fiber cloth makes the package an exceptional buy at under $20. So...what are the compromises? ยท All seem to involve the limitations of the Canon 18-55 MM lens. If you add any screw filter and or hood to the front, it will almost always appear as shooting through a tunnel. Of all the 58 mm tulip flower lenses I have tried, on this lens, this one has the least intrusion. In fact I had to work on getting it to appear. If you turn the hood orientation to a 45ยฐ angle. Depending on the focus distance it will appear at 18 mm. I prefer to shoot through a Circular Polarizer with the hood stacked on. Adding anything to the end of the barrel will compromise the wide-angle function. ยท The Tulip hood is made from flexible plastic. The good news, the hood has the potential to protect lens and lens threads from damage. The bad news, the hood threads are soft and can be easily cross threaded. Since I always use the hood in combination with the CPF, the threading problem is not an issue. Mate the two for life. The circular pivoting function of the Polarizer is an added bonus for positioning the petals in just the right angle. Any combination of Polarizer twist and tulip angle is possible. ยท Vivitar Lenses are a known quantity. Enough said. But for the price of a UV filter alone you get two essentials. ยท The lens cap lanyard and cloth are like prizes in your box of cereal. The lanyard may come lose from the cap. I can never have enough lens caps. A way of attaching it to the lens is priceless. My mother, who kept track of my gloves, would agree. No Compromise with Digital Goja! The only way Digital Goja could improve performance would be to ship before I order. Unfortunately, Walter is not clairvoyant. There interest in customer satisfaction is refreshing. Review: Great bang for your buck - I'm a relatively new photographer, and in looking into filters, I found a lot of conflicting information on their usefulness. Most of the really "good" filters were outrageously expensive, so I'd more or less decided it wouldn't be worth it for me. When I found this set, I was pleasantly surprised at the seller's description - all of the pertinent information (lens compatibility and even where to find the thread size appropriate for my camera) listed right in the description. I figured the low price tag would make it worth the investment even if I only used the UV filter (generally useful only for lens protection on modern DSLRs). I received the filter set today (surprisingly quickly, given that they do not ship Prime), and am very impressed. Again, I am an amateur, so I'm sure a pro could conceivably find flaws with the set, but I expected a cheap feel given the low selling price. I found the filters instead to be of pretty impressive quality glass and metal, though, and they threaded easily onto my lens. Each filter is neatly labeled with the pertinent information, and the filter case was also a pleasant surprise--providing space for three filters with a pocket to spare, and even including a handy flyer detailing what each filter is used for. The lens cap and hood felt a little cheap, but those were just lagniappe anyway, and how high quality do those really need to be? (Don't yell at me, real photographers). I'll update this review as I use the filters more (I still need to seek out some reflections on glass and fluorescent lighting for the non-UV filters), but the bottom line is that for the price, this is a great little kit if you don't care to spend a ton of money on pro gear. I'm very impressed with both the seller and the item itself! *Update: after initially being very confused as to why the CPL filter was doing exactly nothing for my reflections, I soon deduced that you actually have to ROTATE THE FILTER to get the desired effect (I told you I was an amateur). The effect is amazing! This filter definitely works as described.

Nice little set for the money, not without its flaws
This is a nice little starter accessory set, but it isn't without flaws. 1. The filter optics seem to be manufactured well enough for this price range, but I found the screw threads to be very easy to tighten down way too far on my Canon SL1, making the filter difficult to remove. I fear it would be easy to inadvertently tighten one down and not be able to remove it. Based on other reviews, this problem doesn't seem unique to me. Be careful when attaching or removing. 2. The tulip hood suffers from the same threading problem - I'm sometimes afraid I won't be able to remove it. It's also not adjustable - it's attached just like a filter and changes position as the lens focus and/or zoom change. At some zoom settings, the flare tip is visible. This may or may not be a problem for you; if it is perhaps look into something like this: Canon Lens Hood . 3. I like the carrying case for the filters; easy and simple and protects them. 4. Another lens cleaning cloth. Oh joy. All the others in my lens cleaning cloth colony will have to make room for a newcomer. 5. The lens cap seems good as a spare but the original Canon cap is made better. People who don't like advertising the manufacturer's name will like it. The cap keeper string is what it is (I find them annoying). Otherwise, a nice starter kit. The seller (who seems to have a good reputation) included a note promising to take care of any defects or problems, which was a nice touch. If I had paid $150. instead of $15. I'd be unhappy, but these have no pretensions of being high end. Sometimes good enough is good enough.

Excellent Value
This kit is an excellent value. The lens filters seem to be very high quality, I was a bit shocked really with how substantial they seem given the price. The case it comes with is padded well and has room for some extra stuff besides the filters. The lens cap does seem cheap compared to the Canon ones but it comes with a strap and doesn't seem flimsy so it's still a welcome addition. It's not a bad thing to have a spare cap either. I haven't used the stick-on lens strap because I don't really trust the adhesive, but it probably works fine and I might try it later. The lens hood seems durable and fits well, I just wish it had threads on the face of it for the filters. Only one of the filters is threaded on both sides so it is the only one you can combine with the hood. I believe it was the FLD filter. Overall, despite a couple things that could be improved, this is still a great deal and a good addition to anyone's camera bag.

Great set
I wanted the UV and Polarizer for my new DSLR, the extras were gravy. The filters are just what I wanted, good quality. But the extras are really great too! The lens hood is small and easy to pack when not needed. The filter wallet is really great! It holds 6 filters completely protected and it's small and pliable enough to fit in my little back pack's small front pocket. After loosing a couple of lens caps recently I put this lens cap attachment on one. I was very happy. The elastic fits securely, but not tight. I had also purchased one of these attachments at a local camera store and the elastic is really, really tight, gets in the way. So I am quite happy with this one. The small cloth is great and easy to carry anywhere. Great little set, will be buying another for different camera soon. Great price, great set.

Filters are good, hood is not
I like the filters, but I feel like they may get stuck on the lens at some point. It also feels like they may eventually strip the threads. The actual filters themselves are good for the money, but are not amazing. I have wanted a tulip hood now for a while, but am rethinking it. Maybe it is just this one though. It screws onto the filters and rotates with the camera focus. Several times the hood has shown up in the shot at a dark halo/shadow around the edges in weird spots. This may be due to it rotating the long an short parts of the hood without being able to choose independently of focus. You also have to keep the same filter while using the hood, or you have to stop what you are doing and take a few minutes to take off the hood, change the filter and reattach the hood. I have stopped using the hood altogether and just use the filters now.

Can't beat the deal!
I was just looking for some inexpensive filters. Really just wanted a UV and Polarizing filter. With this pack, I Got a UV, a Polarizing, and a Fluorescent Light filter along with a lens hood, lens cap w/ strap and a cleaning cloth for $15.00. This is a great inexpensive filter kit w/ some extra equipment for the money. Polarizing filter works really well as does the UV filter. I haven't used the Fluorescent filter yet. The lens hood seems decent enough. I have other lens hoods, but its nice to have an extra. I have read that people are complaining that it is hard to screw the filters on and off. I've had no problem with them. They go on and come off like any other filter on any other camera...it just screws on...not that hard to figure out. If you need some filters, but don;t want to spend a lot, you cannot beat this deal. these filters and extra kit is well worth the $15!

Good for the money
Nice little package with three 58mm filters, lens cap and flare hood. Designed for a compact camera (Canon G12). I acquired the extender separately. I bought it for one specific use - to attach a polarizing filter and for that it worked perfectly. And it looks sharp too. I have a collection of other cameras with differing filter diameters so the other filters will be useful. There is some vignetting at the widest angle setting because of the length of the separate extender but that's easy to crop out. You can avoid this by shortening the extender but the extended zoom will bump into the filter when zoomed out - best to leave it alone.

Great Product by Goja
Bought this product for my photography class, It came exactly as I ordered it. Different filters really help with my shots. My Canon Rebel T3I and I thank you very much. I will definitely look to by from Goja again.
