Easy to install and very sturdy.

The unit attached easily to the VESA mounts on the back of my monitor. My monitor actually has a slightly recessed VESA mount, which is already being used by the monitor stand, however I was able to use the black plastic filler pieces that shipped with the shelf to install the unit over the display stand mount and everything fit perfectly. The shelf is now positioned lower than the top surface of my monitor, so that I can place a LED light emitter behind the monitor, which throws light onto the wall and ceiling while remaining out-of-sight when I'm using the computer.

My desk was getting too cluttered so I set out to find a way to get excess cables out of the way -- since speakers are one of the worst offenders I decided a soundbar positioned under the monitor help chip away at the rat's nest of wires. This did the job well and there are fewer cables in my way now, giving me more space for (let's be honest) more junk on my desk! This mount is simple to install -- if your monitor has the proper VESA mounting holes then it's as simple as lining it up with the mount and twisting a screwdriver a few times. The build quality, while solid overall, is why this is getting four stars instead of five. The part that connects to the monitor is great and the tray is great. The issue is the connection between these two parts. The plastic thumbscrews seem a little loosely threaded and I've noticed slippage. This would not be a problem if installed as an over-the-monitor tray since it would allow the entire surface to be used a s a shelf. Under the monitor it's a balancing act -- more shelf space means the screws are further from center and any weight placed on it has a lever effect. In my use case, this causes the soundbar to droop forward a few days after tightening.

Probably better for a smaller TV or monitor. Screws on my larger TV are too big for the holes in the brackets provided. Couldn't use it.

Quick shipping, purchased for TV in bedroom of camper for DVD player, took a few minutes to install onto TV but looks like it will function good, everything matched up for a good fit, did add a small bungee to ensure DVD player doesn't fall off, would have liked the shelf about an inch or two deeper, good item for the money.

Might have to be creative but it works.

Stand may require augmentation if your connecting platform has connectors other than 4mm (5/32). My TV has 6mm (15/64) connectors so I had to enlarge the holes in the brackets to 6mm (15/64) see pics(3 & 4). Also of note: tiny bolts used to connect the two piece brackets together were factory tightened far too tight. I added a comparison pair of pics (1 & 2) showing the stripping occurring on the overtightened thread of one of the brackets. If I find that after I reassemble the brackets at the correct height they do not tighten sufficiently, I will return for a refund. For what I paid, these stamped pieces of painted metal should have not required augmentation.

When I installed a new webcam for conference calls, I became one of those "echo generator" participants as my microphone was in the camera but my speakers were in my laptop. Solution? Get a small (~15") PC soundbar that has both speaker and microphone, which fixed the echo and greatly improved my sound. But I didn't want the soundbar sitting on my desk and my monitors were suspended from a support so there was no monitor stand to attach to. This unit was perfect, and while I used it underneath to hold the soundbar, it could also go on top to keep small items from using up scarce desktop space. Easy to install.

Impressed with how flexible this item is. The TV used the 4" VESA holes and was able to use the open 8" VESA holes for this shelf (although I could have used the 4" if I so chose). The TV is angled down, but the shelf is adjustable so that it remains horizontal. I used it above the TV, but it could just as easily be used below it. The angle pieces provide a sturdy base, but the shelf does flex a bit - not a problem for the design weight.

The depth of this shelf is very narrow, therefore a larger cable box will not sit on it properly unless it's secured with some tie wraps. At least it's made out of metal and was able to support the weight of the bigger cable box.

Easy to Assemble. a good size, and sturdy. I got it to mount a speaker over my monitor and it works perfectly.

Flimsy stand that won’t hold anything useful. Do not buy this as it is a waste of money

Exactly what I was looking for…fits perfectly and leaves enough space for other accessories.
