Informative and insightful
I liked that this book is a mix of scientific / medical information but contains the experiences of real women as well. There is plenty of helpful information explaining what to expect during menopause ( and afterwards) and what solutions you might find. If you buy one book about menopause I'd suggest this one is a pretty good choice. Its certainly reassured me. There is a lot in the news about menopause recently and I was starting to get concerned that I was about to experience something terrible ! I now feel more informed and prepared and a lot less worried.

Great resource and a must-read for any woman from mid-30’s onwards
Well written, well researched, fun to read as well as being extremely balanced and informative. Highly recommend reading this book - or even better, listen to the audio book of it which is read by the author herself. I do this on any long journey where I don’t have the kids/husband in the car. Great narrator with a good sense of humour. Found it life-affirmative and good to be reminded of healthy habits and tips that aid the transformative years/decades of perimenopause; there were good all-round examples of different people approaching it in different ways. Found it extremely helpful to have read most of it before approaching the nhs doctor for advice on symptoms.

Part of Sleep chapter missing!!
It's such a shame really because this book is brilliant but on the Kindle edition some of the Sleep chapter is missing! It ends abruptly half way through a sentence then goes into the next chapter. Disappointing really as I now either have to buy the paperback or just try and second guess what might have been said next.I recommend the book on the whole though, it's well written and very informative.

Eye-opening - an educator, a source of comfort, and an inspiration
Having heard this book reviewed positively on the radio, my husband suggested I read it.It has turned out to be the best source of information, understanding and advice in one place that I've come across. It encouraged me to reach out to my doctor, who (despite being a young woman) was very sympathetic, supportive, informative and helpful. It has helped me feel more positive, understanding and forgiving of myself, realising this is just another part of life's journey to cope with. And boy, do we women get the rough end of the stick when it comes to the different parts of life's journeys...!So I'd definitely recommend reading this book, if only to get an understanding of what's happening during menopause and the various options available. Knowing you're "normal" certainly helps!Every doctor should read this and recommended it (in fact every partner of a perimenopausal/menopausal woman should read it too...and their managers...and their teenagers!!!).Thank you for your enlightening work!

A lot of other peoples stories
It's a useful and necessary book. There was a lot of other peoples experiences and stories about menopause a bit too much. I personally prefer fact driven books, so if you are looking for more facts and research, then this might not be the book for you. Mind you, there's so little proper research, a fact driven book might be thin reading :-)
