Works well, melted big blobs quick
I read a lot of negative reviews but the thing seems fine to me. It takes awhile to heat up but once it's there, large soldered joints are easy to melt with this thing. I was soldering 12-gauge solid wire junctions with no problem. It seems well enough made for the price point. So far no issues.

Good Quality Tool
I have an ancient 200w soldering iron from the 60's that is terribly heavy & awkward. So much so that I end up burning myself every time. It's probably as old as I am, the electrical cord is cloth covered (give you some idea). I decided to get a new one & I have had a few of the popular brand name & threw them away as they were just expensive junk. I went with this expecting a lot less than what I got. This unit is handy, capable, light, powerful, & even comes with an ON/OFF switch in the handle & a very basic but perfectly functional stand that really comes in handy. This is a keeper! If anything goes wrong I will update -

fine tool, with some qualification
Good heat & seems temp stable enough for my purposes. The only issue I have ( a big one for me) is that the tip is nonstandard & there is no spade tip available, for use with lead caming. Not the best quality manufacturer, but good value.

A Great Iron AND a Great Bargain
I used to buy lots of soldering irons for my business, always big brand-named American models costing many times as much as this iron. The guys using them were always burning up their expensive coated tips too, because they would forget to unplug them. Plus those American irons of comparable wattage were pretty heavy, something you notice after wielding one for an extended period. This iron puts out great heat, and quickly. And the on-off switch on its handle, right next to your thumb, is a wonderful feature. Not having to unplug it every time you want to turn off the heat is a big help. The secret to using this iron properly is simply to turn it off (flick that switch) as soon as the iron heats up, before it overheats, which any soldering iron will do if you leave it on too long without dissipating its heat. If you're doing small job soldering, like wires or lead came, you'll find this iron holds its heat quite a while before you need to switch it back on.The bent chisel tip provided with this iron, in my opinion, is more convenient than a straight chisel tip. This copper tip is 7/16" in diameter, which is an odd size, but it works fine. Simply tin it with solder, wipe it regularly during use, don't let it overheat — and it works great.

Good for my use, so far...
Needed a 150w, light weight iron that could reach and maintain a desired heat using a rheostat controller. So far the iron has performed well for up to six hours per day of continual use. The handle stays cool. It isn’t as beefy as an American Beauty iron, but for my use that is an advantage for shoulder health. Hoping it lasts a good while, but time will tell. The switch is in a location on the handle where it could be turned off accidentally when gripping the iron, but I’ve not had an issue.

Hot
It was easy to use once it heated up. The first time it smoked for some reason but after that it didn't smoke anymore. It takes longer than a minute though to get to usable temp, but it was hot enough to solder my nickel strips together easily. Be careful of the barrel after you shut it off. It will remain hot enough to burn you even after it has sat for 1/2 hour( i know because it burned my little finger). I left it to sit for a couple of hours before I put it away. That way i knew it was cooled down. It comes with a "stand" that was easy to figure out. I left the one part at about 45 degree angle and the iron has a ribbed part that slid down into the stand. That left it sitting at a balnce point that worked out quite well.

learned too late
I like the soldering iron until I found out that there is virtually no tips available for it except a 5 set with bent tips. I should have checked for extra tips before I bought it and then I just found out that ere was supposed to be a metal stand with it, nope, no stand. Prefer a straight, flat tip for soldering wires.

Nice iron, generates good heat for larger wire
This iron gives you great heat when you’re soldering heavier single or multi strand copper wire which is why I bought it. It heats up quickly and so far I’m very pleased. You can’t find replacement tips for but I found the tips for their 100 watt iron which are available fit and work fine.
