There is one shimmer in this palette which is really more pearl-like than some heavy glitter/shimmer, it has a hint of pink and gold. The matte ivory is more of a soft beige ivory. It will highlight the skin softly or use it wet for more emphasis or even as a concealer. The taupe is just a classic color. It isn't the gray one nor is it the yellow warm color, it is neutral and can be used as a contour or even as a bronzer type color. You know when you can't find a bronzer that looks good, well maybe, it is this taupe instead! The case itself is magnetized and is easy to open. The mirror inside is pretty nice too, none of that fuzzy reflection. I can see why this is a bestseller! Great palette for the everyday and natural look.
