After about 1/3 of the way through the bottle, I started having what I will call bile reflux. So I stopped Beta Plus and ordered Beta-TCP. So far, this seems to be addressing the issue. Beta Plus is for those who either do not make enough bile, or have had their gallbladder removed. Beta-TCP is for thinning the bile in those whose bile is too thick. Beta-TCP is supposed to have the same ingredients as Beta Plus, MINUS the ox bile. I still have my gallbladder. Judging from my experience with the two products, I must make enough bile, it is just too thick. I continue to take the Chanca Piedra as well. It is my intent to dissolve the stones while addressing the root cause and avoid forming any more stones. I have been addressing my hypochlorhydria using Betaine hcl (I have reviewed this product as well) for more than a year. I recently did a self-test using 1/4t baking soda in 8 oz of water on an empty stomach first thing in the morning. The results seem to indicate I now have "sufficient" stomach acid. Hypochlorhydria leads to bile statis. It is my belief, most people taking stomach acid REDUCERS actually have LOW stomach acid, and are killing themself -- and they don't believe it. Hypochlorhydria leads to bile statis, bile statis leads to gallstones. It can also be the cause of chronic constipation. I did not unknowingly do this to myself overnight; thus correcting such health issues do not work overnight. As with the hypochlorhydria, I believe it is going to take a long time to dissolve the stones. Without another ultrasound, I will never know if they are gone completely.
