Great British Sewing Bee: The Modern Wardrobe

Allow me to preface this review with stating that I love GB Sewing Bee. However that said I am very disappointed that this book only includes 1 single mens project, a pair of pyjamas. I preordered the book so was unable to look at it's contents, but that didn't deter me because the book from last season included a few mens patterns so naturally I assumed this would too. The show even opens this year with Patrick and Esme declaring that more mens than women took up sewing during the pandemic and the have more male contestants this year than ever before, but still only one mens pattern.For any guys that sew, you most likely already know that the choice of paterns for men is awful, boarderline non-existant, and while I happy to make things for my female friends and family I really want to be abel to make things for myself too.Overall the book is written well, includes a huge array of ladies patterns and if you only want ladieswear then it's good value. This book will NOT teach you to sew, its written for those that are at least a little way in to lerning to sew and past the novice stage with a fairly good understanding of sewing techniques.

Made the quilted jacket after seeing it on Sewing Bee and it was an amazing success looking forward to trying some of the other designs. A very good way to get a lot of basic patterns with guidance at a reasonable price.

I bought the book because I wanted the Parka Pattern from the Great British Sewing Bee program. The listing does not actually say which of the patterns from the series are included in the book, it would be useful if it did. The Parka pattern was really the only pattern from the series that I wanted. It does contain some of the other patterns like the shirred dress and the mini skirt. Plus lots of hints and tips. The pattern sheets are full size but you have to trace them off as they overlap.

I was so excited to receive this book and the box of full-size patterns. Lots of information and sewing tips. Very good value for money. Can’t wait to get sewing ❤️

True to the Queen mother’s Bee ethos… Wonderful book to continue the Bee series & my library. Brilliant how to, masterclass & tips for beginners up to experienced sewing people. Pattern drafting, alterations & resizing are all in this book. Lovely classic & vintage patterns with views & all are compatible to interchange sleeves, collars, skirts & bodices for dresses… also match previous bee books so the changes for patterns are virtually endless.Reduce, reuse & recycle ♻️ up cycle & repurpose anything can become a new item of household wear or clothing
