Phresh Carbon Filter For The Cleanest Air Around, 6" x 24" - 550 CFM

After purchasing a cheaper carbon filter and having the smell punch you in the face when you open the door, I can say wow this thing actually works.It came in Amazon's box, so that was nice.The bag containing the filter had fine charcoal dust in it. A minor annoyance. Just remember to blow off the loose dust before using.The flange is a tight fit with ducting. No leaks but a little difficult to get the duct over the flange. Airflow reduction is barely noticeable.The smell is 99.9% gone. Don't waste money on cheap filters. If you need that smell gone then get this.

Wow, this filter works great. I grow stealthy in a house living with other people who do not know! I was not going to skip on quality, and I am glad I went with this brand! Worth the money! I have it paired directly to a 4" terrabloom booster fan, with a speed regulator. It is sucking air through the filter in a sealed cabinet room. It operates nearly silent, and does a great job, contrary to people telling me I needed a large powerful loud vortex fan. Been running it for 2 months now, and not a whif of anything outside cabinet. Bought ona gel just in case, but haven't had to use it.

Cleans the air !!Does EXACTLY WHAT YOU THINKI can paint, weld, use solvents ect...ANY THING causing a terrible stink will be scrubbed out. No complaints of grinding smell from the family. Panasonic makes a wiper quite fan series. Pass though design 200cfm and higher. DC motor uses very little energy. VERY QUITE I forget to turn it off after grinding. The Panasonic with this filter is perfect. The two can be coupled directly to eachother. Can't beat the price or quality.

This product is amazing for it's purpose, and enough can't be said for Phresh.Ordered from Star Hydro (fulfilled by Amazon), product was described as including, flange, filter, AND pre-filter. It did not come with the pre-filter, and was delivery was 2 days later than expected arrival date listed (under a week still, and during the christmas shipping season, so it was only something to be noted). That is a minor inconvenience because although the product requires the pre-filter to properly work, they are a $10 item that any decent hydro store will carry (distributed by sunlight supply). Amazon remedied this error quickly and I am still a happy customerI would buy from them again, but would definitely clarify any questions I had before purchasing. I would give 5 stars, but the very minor inconveniences have to be noted.Overall, very easy experience that was definitely worth the value for this product.

Phresh filters Imo are on the TOP shelf of carbon air filters. This 6x24 is as light as most of my 4x20's. The output end from these really DO smell clean and fresh. The only other one I had do that was a Can filter. Which is right up there with this one and, would be my next choice. NOTE" Be sure to blow the filter out with a blower, or fan, or air jet from a compressor to remove the fine black carbon dust prior to installing or bringing into your home. The dust can be very hard to remove from carpet and or other materials. Be careful! especially when first opening the package that contains the filter itself. IMO take it outside to blow it out before bringing it inside. Very Important as with all carbon filters.! I still wouldn't put this in top of a grow tent "unless its a high dollar Gorilla type tent that can handle the extra weight. But for the cheaper tents, NO WAY! Im pretty sure people do, but I wont. I haven't had to clean it yet, but can tell from past experience that this will be just as easy. For a quick clean you can spray fresh R/O water, or tap, through the filter, and rotate it while spraying. For a deeper clean, I remove the flange and all the carbon in the filter and put it in a draining style bucket with a mesh screen over the drain, then with water spray all throughout the carbon pellets until the out going water is really clear. Then let dry, repack the carbon, re install the flange, I don't re-rivet, I just use either sheet metal screws or Gorilla Duct tape. The cleaned filter will sometimes last sometime from 1/8-1/3 longer just from cleaning. but is a big process and can get quite messy.

Lasted over 2.5 years with continuous use paired with a Hydrofarm 6 inch 400 cfm fan ( Hydrofarm Active Air inch In Line  My room had a separate filter for the intake to catch most of the dust/debris so I did not need to clean or replace the pre-filter. My RH was between 40% and 70%.I cannot comment on the exact diameter of the flange as I do not have the unit anymore. However if you are attaching this directly to a fan you should purchase a noise reduction clamp found here  Noise Reduction Clamp 6 quot My one complaint with my experience was the prefilter straps could have been tighter. This can be remedied by folding a small section of the strap over itself then stapling it.PLEASE NOTE: (This has occurred with all name brand filters I've experienced) There will be charcoal dust in the box and on the unit when taken out. More importantly there will also be a large gust of dust debris when you first pull air through it. My suggestion is you vent the air directly to the outside of your house at first for a good couple of minutes. It's also ideal to take a break and move the filter around to help the loose dust exit (tilt it horizontally/vertically), then continue to pull air. This will help keep dust from accumulating within your grow room.Update 6/18/15:Just purchased the 6x24 version from Amazon Prime and they did not provide a discrete box for shipment. Keep this in mind.

This filter works great. I initially purchased a Can which is running in my larger room, but it was pretty heavy and pricey. Did some research and came across Phresh. What convinced me were the multitude of hobbyist and enthusiast who all pointed to Phresh as the most effective and long term reliable brand. One word of caution, be aware that himidity can clogg up even the best carbon filters. Just something I came across in my research that I thought some of you might find useful.

So I started with a cheep filter... got gunked up pretty fast. Replaced it with this.... night and day. Do yourself a favour and pay the little extra upfront. You wont regret it.
