Looks so cool
Instructions were simple for me and my little brother, very large set, and works nice with other train sets.

Brick quality is only adequate.
Before getting into the negatives it does look pretty convincing and for the price I am not at all disappointed. Once I add a few extra bits its going to be a great addition to my collection. As I rather expected without modifications it won't take Lego radius corners, but it actually comes surprisingly close. So it should be possible to alter it if you need that tight a radius. Just with the bits in the set and removing some details everything but the leading guide wheel assembly will make the Lego radius, and I don't think it will take much alteration to make that bit work either. However the bricks are either very tough to stick together or have almost no grip at all (almost always the former), which makes assembly somewhat challenging, and makes we curious how long the bricks will last. But it does make it mostly a very solid build once you get it together. A few bricks in my set were not perfectly coloured throughout, though this is mostly subtle enough to be very hard to spot one of the blind rail wheels was quite obviously not fully dyed. The instructions have some poor order of operations, but are workable and the design itself could be better. It feels like they went part way through providing a motorised option but did not figure out how to finish the job - most of the basic parts you would need are present though including a large number of bevel gears the set makes no use of at all. You would need to rejig the internals of the locomotive (but that looks easy) to fit dual motors of the size they they seem to have designed around (bricklink 88003-1 style) and then add some axles and the odd technic plate and brick of the right lengths to actually carry the power from boiler to the driving wheels, or just substitute the tenders bogies for normal railway motors.
