Fantastic work from the Good Friends of Jackson Elias
The only reason this volume received 4 stars rather than 5 is because the binding was coming apart by the end of the campaign. The contents of the book are great. Each chapter of the campaign has its own feel while still being part of a whole. From in the in media res opening to the incredible climax it was a very fun adventure. I've been running scenarios and campaigns of my own devising for 43 years. I've never run a pre-written campaign because I never found one that was up to snuff, until this one.I highly recommend this Pulp Cthulhu adventure campaign!

want to punch cthulhu in the face instead of running away? play Pulp Cthulhu
this is a complete tonal shift from the base Call of Cthulhu, where it's horror and balancing sanity and death, it's everyday people trying to survive the horrors of the Cthulhu mythos. Pulp Cthulhu is basically a tonal shift in which your Heroes are tough enough to take on the horrors, Luck is a major component of the game, and this game allows min-maxing to your benefit called Archetypes, so you can have adventures to the likes of Temple of Doom and 1990s The Mummy, with Cthulhu mythos creatures.the complaint of this specific game of CoC is Luck is too much of a factor, that it just becomes too unnecessary, which in the book it does say luck is a factor more so than base CoC, because this is an over-the-top pulp adventure style game, so a lot of over the top thing can and will happen, so luck definitely affects your character's actions.overall, this is a great and fun game, and if you want to have adventures like Indiana Jones, you can't go wrong with this sourcebook.

Pulpy Cthulhu! As opposed when Cthulhu pulps you.
Many Players really enjoy the original Call of Cthulhu, which is dark, scary and quite gritty. But others dont care for the fact that their carefully designed and beloved character (Investigator) is heading for..... certain doom. So, Mike Mason and team came up with a slightly different CoC, one where the characters are Pulp Heroes- and in some cases verging on heroes from the Golden Age of Comics (no supers, but Wildcat is doable). Not quite up to Doc Savage or The Shadow, but you can play the likes of Flashgun Casey, Mr. Death , The Phantom, The Spirit, and so forth. The first part of the book explains Pulp Heroes and the genre, then Character generation. "Pulp Talents" like "Tough Guy" or "Weird Science' can keep your character alive longer and make him or her more unique. Also a important addition is "Investigator Luck" where you get and can spent luck points to ward off damage or even sanity loss- to a point. Not to be scorned is the fact that Hit Points are more or less twice what they were in standard CoC.Mysticism, Weird Science, and Hypnosis are also some of the things Investigators can get into. Keepers (Game Masters) can adjust things by the "Pulp-o-Meter" with optional rules.A nice section on the 1930s with plenty of background information is included. Good stuff for any game set in that period.Rounding out this excellent book are no less than four interesting looking adventures, complete with floor plans (one of a Zeppelin!) and plenty of handouts.Owning a copy of Call of Cthulhu will be handy, but not necessary.

Fantastic addition to the RPG
This book is well written, and amazingly informative about the history of pulp comics, heroes, and stories. It is a great way to change up your Call of Cthulu games if you are looking to do so. Chaosium really nails it with this one, and I am excited to add it to my games.

Great resource for bringing timeline forward to 1930s-ish pulp era
If you like the old pulp fiction novels, you'll appreciate adding this reference to your CoC RPG. Adds a gritty feel to my game. Worth every penny.

A Great RPG book that combines Cthulhu and Pulp Fiction.
A really good book for anyone who likes Cthulhu, pulp fiction, and/or role-playing games. Combines the horror rpg of Cthulhu with that of pulp fiction from the early part of the 20th Century. Whether it's radio dramas, classic movies, pulp books and comics, or some combination of those, the book gives a good overview of mixing the two tropes together. Expanding upon the Call of Cthulhu RPG series, it allows people to apply pulp fiction worlds to that of Call of Cthulhu with some samples included in the book. Even people who don't necessarily like one or more of the aforementioned things, it's still a good book. Definitely recommend it to people who like rpgs, pulp fiction material, and/or the Cthulhu mythos

Grand Adventuring
Take your Call of Cthulhu to the next level. Making adventurers more sturdy and heroic, like Indiana Jones, so they can investigate the perils of the world around them. The book itself is well made, no issues to speak of. The pages are well laid out and well organized.

Kind of ruins the game
I'll put asside that it ruins the point of playing a Call of Cthulhu game and tell you,the simply truth: this book could have easily just been an alternate rules section in the players handbook or investigators guide. Most of the book is filled with 1930s lore and some beginning Adventures. Once you take that out, the aspects that are added to the characters themselves are pretty simple. Give them powers and give them more hit points. I would only recommend this book if you don't like the original call of Cthulhu game but want to play in that universe.

Buy from the website
If you buy this from the publisher you get a free slip case for the same cost. Maybe don't pay Bezos for this one.

Excellent supplement even if the text is padded out.
I’m not a big fan of 7th edition Call of Cthulhu; in my opinion it’s overpriced and simply okay. I would say the same about that book too. That said, apart from “padding”, this book is very good. The production and artwork are awesome and it’s a great supplement for anyone wanting to add weird science and super abilities to their Cthulhu game.

Beautiful book, great artwork and print quality.
Another quality book from Chaoism. The character generation system is brilliant with a choice of archytypes and choice of Pulp talents to add to the existing CoC 7th edition features. Nice Pulp adventures included. The attention to detail is impressive and wonderful illustrations. A must have for any RPG players collection. No. You need 7th edition call of Cthulhu too. I think this is excellent value for money and a really high quality product.

Great way of avoiding Death in the standard game
Having read through cannot wait to play through the scenarios in the book and the campaign also released for Pulp Cthulhu. Well laid out and clearly explains how to use larger than life characters in Call of Cthulhu. It make the investigators real heroes, instead of running away and avoiding creatures, you can take them on now. This does add another dimension and could provide lots of fun encounters.
