Label image says 100 mg of caffeine but your product description says 50 mg.  Which is it?

Each capsule is 50mg of caffeine and 100mg of L-Theanine. Each serving size is 2 capsules, which is 100mg of caffeine and 200mg of L-Theanine. The reason each capsule is half a serving is to give you more control over your caffeine and L-Theanine intake, so you can space it out over time.

Is there a noticeable difference in horsepower?

There is some but it doesn't race you up. And it doesn't make your heart beat fast like the other caffeine supplements do. If you are looking for an alternative this product could be great for you. I am not saying its for everyone because different people react to things differently but it helped me with my energy and helped me focus more clearly.

I see here to answers already from a year ago. One person did not know what you were talking about. The other person correctly implied that some people do not believe in supplementation during a fast, while others do.

I still don’t think the question was actually answered. This is my own personal opinion, from my own knowledge acquired from years of reading and research….

I, personally, do not believe that this supplement, containing theanine and caffeine, will necessarily break your fast (or if you only take 1 or 2 in the day).  However, Theanine is an amino acid and, therefore, can probably set off a chain of biological events, though nothing too drastic in the small amounts you’d be taking.

From what I have gathered in my readings, one of the things that happens during a fast (a true water fast) is mTOR suppression. It is too much to go into here, but worth researching if you really want to know about what encourages an anabolic situation versus a catabolic one.

My understanding is that you want mTOR To not be activated so that autophagy can take its course.

That being said, even though amino acids can trigger mTOR (and therefore anabolic growth) I am not sure that the small amount of L-theanine will trigger this.

I would encourage you to do your own extensive reading and research into these subjects.  Better yet, if you find a practitioner who is knowledgeable in the area of fasting, I would consult with them; they may have much more information to offer you than our layperson knowledge.

Do these contain corn, soy, wheat or tapioca? If so, are they in the capsule itself or in the powder inside the capsule?
