Great solution!
I am really happy with this item (I rarely leave reviews but I read them before I buy things). I was debating getting a raise/lower desk so I could stand or walk, but I loved my existing desk. This was such a great alternative to getting a completely new desk. Some reviewers commented they found lifting up is too heavy. I suppose if you were a very tiny person and had little/no arm strength, it could be difficult. I'm tall and I don't mind the lift. It's not very hard, but you do have to use a bit of muscle to initially lift. Once it starts going up, it slides easy without muscle. It goes down smooth with no muscle. The hydraulics are really strong and smooth. It holds up well and I don't have any fear of it collapsing. I type a lot standing up and lean on it a bit with no issue.

Easy to unbox and start using!
This standing desk is very sturdy and easy to raise and lower. It has plenty of room for my laptop, mouse, a drink, my phone and book of choice. Plus, I still have room to correct papers. I purchased this standing desk convertor for my classroom and it has been fantastic. I have already recommended it to three co-workers who have been looking for the same type of desk.

Very sturdy piece with a lot of area! Well worth the money!
I had been contemplating purchasing a stand up desk for some time. My co-worker decided to get one (a smaller and different brand) and after standing at it, I decided to do it. So glad I did! This desk is very sturdy, holds a good amount of weight, does not wiggle/wobble, holds up well to leaning of it (I'm always leaning on an elbow while reading). It's holding my monitor, keyboard, calculator, a desk pad calendar and a few small items, as well. And, it still has ample room for opening up a file folder or spreading out papers you're working with. Love it! I'm actually ordering another one, as I work out of two offices. I now want one for my other office! Standing vs sitting for 8 hours a day is so much better for my health, posture and energy levels too! I stood every day for 10 yrs back in my banking days, it feels good to do it again!

A good product, the only one of its kind in this size.
I work about 10-12 hours a day on this thing, and I have a lot of stuff on it (two large Dell monitors, a keyboard, mouse, Wacom tablet, a notebook and coffee mug). Probably more than the recommended weight. I'm really putting it to the limit, so keep that in mind for this review.Pros:- It's the only product of this size, without multiple tiers, that lifts straight up. That saves a ton of space and doesn't annoy your close-quarters co-workers. That also means it has a limited vertical and horizontal footprint, simplifying the design. I really like that.- It's got a very large working surface. I use a full-size Wacom tablet, and honestly the only other adjustable, portable standing desk that comfortably fits one is the $500 48" Varidesk. That one takes a lot of horizontal space when you lift it up and over.- It's quite stable, even with a ton of stuff on it like I have. You can fit two monitors. It's more stable than the stupid cheap work desk I have it placed on top of.Cons:- You have to actually overpower the entire desk and lift it with force exceeding the weight that's on top. What does that mean? Well, whenever I lift it, I have to lift the weight of my two monitors, keyboard, and tablet to get it high enough (about four inches up) to activate the hydraulics function that allows you to lift and lower the desk with ease. The same applies for dropping the desk back down--you will have to hold on to surface for the last four inches or the entire thing will slam down. Having said that, I have a lot more stuff on this thing than most people (I work in VFX, we have a lot of equipment--the woman in the picture just has a laptop and a light monitor), which is why I think they won't have trouble lifting the desk. It has also developed my muscles because I have a lot less trouble lifting the desk two weeks later. It's still awkward because I'm short, but I guess gains are nice.- Greasy fingerprints are a real problem. I put a large mousepad over the entire lower surface to cover them--thankfully you can find ones that are 3' long. A matte or more wooden finish would have been a lot nicer. The surface is also so smooth that some optical mice are going to have an issue with tracking, in which case you'll want a mousepad anyway.- Like others have mentioned, the desk has a 2" vertical footprint when lowered. This is going to be unavoidable with any kind of adjustable height product of this nature so I can't really dock it for that. If you are shorter than 5'4" I imagine this is going to be uncomfortable for you (I'm 5'2") because chairs don't really lift high enough to accommodate a short person's ideal seated posture with the two-inch lift. Something to keep in mind if you spend a lot of time sitting and have wrist problems. All in all, those cons are not a big deal considering the benefits and comfort this desk brings me throughout my tiresome work day. If you feel like your thighs are just melting into your chair and your back hurts from sitting all day, get this. You won't regret it. You might even get some muscles.

Nice large sturdy work surface - perfect !
The first generation Standing desks only had a tray for the keyboard and mouse, which did not work for me as I write down a lot and need an actual large surface to work on placing my Coffee and notebooks etc. This works perfect. When I read the reviews I was worried about the following:Some people said it was heavy to lift - well I am an active 57 year old female and have no problem giving the desk a nudge when first lifting.. then it does its own lifting you do need to pull it up, after all it is not an electric desk. So this is not a biggie. However the first time I lowered it just before it rests down there is a range where it goes down quickly (not quite a free fall but still banged before I figured it out) so at the same range where you need to nudge when lifting ( couple of inches initially) there seems to be a minimally supported zone you have to lift, and at the same zone you have to buffer the lowering otherwise it lands a little harsh..No biggie. The other complaint was the surface cleaning - well I think they only had Black and everyone knows that a black laminate surface yeah will show oils. So any oily food that you spill or if you spill lotion or put on vaseline on your arms hands it will get quick dirty.. but wipes off easily. I wish there was a different color like birch.Overall I am very happy - oh one heads up -- in any kind of standing desk do not forget to check under the surface before lowering it.. yeah I had placed my coffee cup under somehow.. it did not end pretty.

Exactly what I needed!
Working from home was getting very tiresome without a stand up desk. I'm a high school counselor and am used to moving around a lot during the day, I also have a stand up desk at school. Now that most of my work and meetings are on the computer, I was getting so tired of sitting all day. I needed a stand up desk that was just one complete surface because I often have lots of papers I'm referencing while working (transcripts, schedules, etc). This is just the right size for my makeshift home desk, and is very sturdy. It's easy to put up and down. So glad I got it!
