For years now I've relied on Gu, and while I never really had much to complain about, I wouldn't say I really enjoyed them. Plus, they didn't really make a lot of sense with the rest of my diet. These Spring packs, and especially the Long Haul flavor, are (1) tasty, (2) comprised of ingredients I prefer, and (3) effective for a long run/ride. I haven't tried following the different packs for different challenges suggested, but I'm usually just a one pack/hour kind of guy anyway. I was watching a youtube video on running fuel since I'm training for my first marathon and the guy recommended the Spring gels. I decided to try them and I'm glad I did. The taste is really tart, but I am getting used to it. And I've found that if I eat a little at a time instead of squeezing the whole thing in at once it's not as tart. But I do not get any GI issues from it. And I appreciate that it's all real foods, and not fully processed and filled with additives.
