Penny and Her Song (I Can Read Level 1)

Very cute story! Children tend to sing the song as they read the story. It’s really fun to hear them read it.

This penny series is a fun easy read aloud and when our little bit is able to read I’m sure it will be an easy first reader too. She loves mouse books.

Adorable book-a great way to teach your child to be patient when they have a baby sibling and that their time to be the center of attention will still come even if they have to wait a little while.

Such a fun and playful book. My granddaughter and I really enjoy making our own songs just like Penny. We both enjoy our time playing with Penny and her stories.

Kevin Henkes is a great author/illustrator, and this is another example of his greatness. I'll admit, I'm probably a bigger fan than my 5 year old, but she enjoyed it, too. The story is sweet, and the style is repetitive enough that we can take turns reading as she gets familiar with more and more words.

My daughter is going into first grade and this was a perfect read for her right now, during the summer. Challenging but doesn't put her off and we're already fans of Mr. Henkes.

Very engaging, especially if you make up a tune for the song. True to magic that is Kevin Henkes.

Kevin Henkes does it again, what a great book :) thoroughly enjoyable and the illustrations are so true to real-life situations. A wonderfully happy read.

These Penny books are so cute, and I love how they always have a moral at the end of them. These stories are a favourite with our daughters (ages 6 and 4).
