Best bullet seating die for quality reloading results.
I reload for competition shooting and when I changed from a 115gr Plated bullet to the 124 JHP for better accuracy I immediately noticed a bulge in the case where the bottom of the bullet sits, after some initial investigation I identified that the factory Dillon seating die was allowing the bullet to get pushed in the case at a slight angle. The Redding Competition seating die helps to align the case and bullet better and then the bulge doesn't begin to form when the bullet is completely seated. In addition, you can control the seating depth to a more accurate depth using the micrometer on top it makes .001 adjustments to get the OAL more precise / repeatable. I found a few other reloaders that use the Redding Competition die and they love it., it's a little pricey but worth it for the performance.

Micrometer is a game changer for changing seating depth on reloads
When you change bullets and/or powder, the COAL for the round also sometimes changes. The micrometer allows me to very precisely dial in the proper seating depth. It also allows me to write down the setting in my recipe so I can reproduce it quickly as I change bullets and powder. Great tool for reloading!

BUY THEM!!!
If you are using a Hornady LOCK N LOAD loader, bullet depth can sometimes begin to 'walk' on you. Rather than go through, the twisting and struggle of wrenching in a new depth..... a simple twist of the cap may be all you need. And the Redding seating die provides that. Have different bullets you use? Find the depth you want, write it down, and refer to it the next time you load that bullet. The Redding sizing die can deal with 'guppy brass' thrown out by Glocks.... a condition created by guns that do not completely support the case. , and bulges it near the base.... making it stick even after resizing it in a lot of other dies, reputable manufacturers. Picking up range brass can lead to some strange reloading nightmares, if not sized properly and completely.Redding has that figured out. Pricey yes.... but worth it when you drive for an hour to get to the range, then have to go home because your gun or guns have stuck cases in them. Been there, done that!!!!!

Easy install and adjust
I reload on a Dillon 1050 and was having issues with shaving when I changed over to coated bullets. I decided the best solution was to separate the seat and crimp stations. The Redding precision seating die was very easy to install and adjust to just the right bullet depth with very consistent results. Using a separate crimping die has eliminated the coating shaving completely.
