Cat is learning!
I got these to see if I could train my 9 month old kitten with them. Easy to record on and reasonably loud - loud enough to annoy my teenager with. We started with just one button and after a week of simple association training during feeding time he is now pressing the button set to say “food” at his feeding times. Looking forward to adding more words now. The older cat, a Maine coon, has also been taking notice and I imagine he’s going to learn vicariously himself.Giving 4 star rating because we’ve only been using one of them for about a week so can’t say exactly how good they are.

Fun, Funny
One out of three cats figured out how to use it after about a month. We recorded "treats" and when she (the smart one) pushes the button, the other two come running too. She does not overuse it, I think she considers it beneath her to "talk" to humans too much.

Work great but my dogs are stubborn
Easy to use. Throw in the batteries, hit the record button and you are ready to go! My dogs will not use them. I have tried and tried. They wait for me to push the button...maybe they trained me!

Great for short term use.
The buttons held up for a little while, they worked when pressed hard and as long as you’re not too close to the microphone when you record a phrase, the sound quality is good too.Depending on the surface you put it on, it might be much quieter or louder. Our chihuahua has some difficulty pressing the button because it has to be pressed relatively hard in order for sound to come through. After about a month of use, one button (“treat”) stopped working. And when we replaced the batteries, it still didn’t work. Then another button (“play”) died because he pressed it too much. The other two buttons are still working, however I assume it’s only because he doesn’t press them. You get what you’re paying for.

Much better sound than FluentPet
The media could not be loaded. I got these buttons for my cat, because they were inexpensive and I wasn't sure how he would take to buttons, and I didn't want to buy the expensive FluentPet buttons if he wasn't going to do it. I intended to switch to FluentPet if he used them.I love how the record button is on the bottom, so there's pretty much no way he can erase/record over (in my searching I saw that some buttons record by holding down the button, if you hold these down they say the word one time and that's all). I also think they are easy to press. I have no idea if he can tell the difference between the colors, so I got white adhesive vinyl from the dollar store (like the kind for a Cricut) and used a craft knife to cut out different labels like icons (we have 2 sets of buttons now so 2 of each color, and this is also helpful for me to tell them apart)I have since gotten some FluentPet buttons, and I think these Kafaka buttons have WAY better sound quality and volume. I dont think there is a noticeable difference in how easy they are to press, just that sometimes (only sometimes) if you only hit the edge of the button, the bigger buttons might not go off, and the FluentPet buttons are smaller so no matter where you press you're pretty close to the center, and they always seem to go off. I'm thinking I might stick with these for home and maybe use FluentPet for travel, since they are smaller and the hextiles make them more portable.PROS (VS FLUENT PET)LouderClearer soundColorful (this may be just easier for the human to tell them apart)CONS (VS FLUENT PET)Bigger=less transportable (could be a pro if you have a large pawed dog, but I have a cat so Fluent Pet size would be better size-wise)Curved top= harder to stick labels (FluentPet are not completely flat either but flatter)Have to DIY a soundboard (I assume these would fit in the larger cross-compatible FluentPet hextiles, but I have the compact ones, and they muffle the sound so much (both buttons have the speaker on the bottom), I don't think I want to try to get the bigger hextiles, I think I will try making my own soundboard. Maybe velcro dots on the "feet" of the buttons to keep the speaker raised a bit. Anyway, I highly recommend these for starting out, and maybe for long term, if you think my pros and cons match yours.
