I've always found ghee off-putting to use in recipes because of the smell – to be frank, it usually smells like vomit, which is the butyric acid content, and I know butyrates are good for the gut and all that, but I couldn't get past that pong. In the end I decided to give this brand a go as a final attempt because of review comments about the aroma, and I was pleasantly surprised. It really does smell like fresh butter. I can also confirm the verdict of another reviewer who said it was terrific for cooking scrambled eggs. Not bad value, either – you get a nice big jar for the money. I'll stick with this one.

Love this product. I was a bit reluctant to try this as I have been let down by other brands in the past. I usually go for another brand but thought I’d give Hunter & Gather a try , value for money seemed really good for the amount you get. Well I was not disappointed, the same great taste I love in my ghee that rich creamy, caramel taste that adds a bit of luxury , even on its own and especially when used to make date caramel or date salami (picture included) taste like toffee. Quality Ingredients that I have come to expect from Hunter & Gather, definitely a repeat purchase added to my monthly subscriptions.

This is the third Kar I've ordered, I use a lot and the last 2 have been great. This latest one looks lumpy and thinner, and a much brighter yellow. I'm sure there must be variations but the little lumps and different texture are putting me off. New jar looks half empty. Would value feedback from Hunter and Gather. Thank you.

Item received today but seal was open and residue in packaging Says I can’t return!!

I bought this to add to a morning coffee to help keep hunger controlled when restricting calories. Compared to MCT oil I found it worked better for that. As for the taste, MCT oil had next to no taste and as a result didn’t change the coffee taste. I’m not a fan of the resulting taste of this but I’m sure this is a personal preference. I’ve always been a black no sugar drinker and dislike any added flavours like syrups etc. It does what I wanted it to do and for that reason I’d consider buying it again.
