Really great toy!
Very cute and sound is not at all annoying. My dog loves this because he can get it to play the tune himself. I was worried about how it would hold up with its skinny legs and arms because Cody loves to play tug-a-war but 3 months later it is still in great shape, no tears or chew marks, and the battery is going strong. Highly recommend this toy and I have tried them all.

Favorite Toy
My tibetan terrier had one of these as a puppy and it was her favorite toy. The soundbox lasted 3 years, until we adopted her little brother, a jackapoo puppy. The soundbox quickly broke and we thought it was because it was an old toy, but after buying a new toy, the soundbox also quit working within a week or so. no matter. It may be because we throw the toy for them to chase and it can't take the landing impact. They love the stringy legs and engage in tug of war together and don't care if it sings....i can play the tune for them from my laptop and it delights them. Other than the soundbox, it's a very sturdy toy and super cute.

Pups Love This Goldfish And It's Ear-Friendly To Humans!
Of all the "talking" animal dog toys in the "Multipet" line, this little goldfish HAS to be the most "ear-friendly", to humans. It makes a cute little bubbling sound. I've never bred dogs, but have rescued and purchased many, many puppies and adult dogs through the years and this toy has always been a consistent favorite. It's deliciously soft and cuddly and its sound doesn't startle or scare young puppies like some of their other animals do. (The Multipet Monkey Is extremely loud and annoying but older dogs seem to love it!) Once a puppy loves this goldfish, they carry it around, long after they're grown, until it finally wears out, as all favored toys eventually do. As with all the "talking" dog toys, you must be diligent in observing how your dog plays with it, as it does have that sound device inside, which would be harmful if swallowed. For some reason, though, even my myost aggressive chewers have never abused this toy. Instead, they seem to treasure it, and thus "love" it, more gently. If it does tear, I take it away immediately and either mend it with the device in place or toss the device and let them play with it, noiseless, until it finally wears out and dies a quiet death. I've probably replaced this toy 10 times over the

Not durable but my dogs love it
Over the years we have had about a dozen of these toys. They are a favorite. I have Belgian Malinois who know they aren’t allowed to purposely destroy toys but through normal play eventually these toys fail but until then they love that it plays a tune, and they play tug of war and have fun. The shark has the least amount of damage since it doesn’t have appendages to rip off. The monkey is a hit but it’s down to just 2 arms. I do stitch these up as they get torn because they are a favorite. Since the shark got pricey I usually keep a stock of two monkeys to replace a destroyed one… of course every once in awhile I am awakened by the “Deedle” song…

We only buy Multipets dog toys
Multipets has always offered interesting toys at gr8 prices. Our 100+ lb Mastiff mix loves + cherishes his. He doesn't "rip into" them. Each lasts almost permanently, besides becoming drooly or an accidental bite when occasionally playing somewhat roughly. His gentleness towards these could be because he didn't know how to play when we rescued him at 9 yrs old. Poor guy. Even his Kitty lived thru being washed + dried by Daddy + still works fine. We just bought him a lot of the Loofa Dogs last wk, in every size available. Even the one with 13 squeakers. Our Mello lives up to his name concerning all his "Babies". He must leave one by the door when pottied, + then grabs it again when done + he NEVER forgets to grab it. These are the best toys ever + are quite reasonable. Mello has just about every Multipet available. Daddy + I bought ourselves "Gumby" + "Mr. Bill" years ago.

Depends on your dog
This is kinda long but I wanted to be thorough. Like other reviews have mentioned - there is a speaker mechanism with 3 alkaline batteries. It’s about 1x2 inches contained in an orange canvas-like bag. It could be very dangerous and - honestly - whether or not you buy this toy depends on your dog. I bought it without reading the reviews thinking it would just have a squeaker and was concerned when it arrived. But I let her play with it when I had free time to watch her. She LOVED Piggy. Easily one of her top toys. I’d pick it up when I didn’t have time to watch her and give it back when I did. This went on for a couple weeks. Eventually she chewed the head off and started pulling out the stuffing (normal) and then pulled the whole canvas bag out and left it on the rug. I dismantled it to have a look. She’d cracked the plastic but it was still working and completely intact. So - it totally depends on your dog. She doesn’t ever eat anything she pulls off her toys and I wouldn’t let her play with it when I couldn’t watch. Not sure if she would’ve tried to chew on it if she’d really noticed it (was still focused on the stuffing pulling) but I picked it up right away regardless. On the fence about buying another one. Maybe tuck it away for “special” occasions. Hope this helps someone.

I have purchased these multipet singing/talking toys for my own dogs and as gifts and they are always a hit. This monkey is probably the eighth one I have bought thus far - for my Australian Shepherd puppy and of all the toys he has this is his favorite. It sings (what I feel...others around me not so much...) is a hilarious song that my puppy loves. He quickly figured out how to make it sing and throws it around and barks at it and does it over and over and over again. The monkey is not particularly tough; if you leave this with a voracious chewer consider it toast. My German Shepherd has crushed the sound box of one of these toys (the mouse) with one chomp and the spindly appendages on these things are no match for the jaws of any lab I have given it to.

My dog’s new buddy. She loves this toy and when I throw it with the sound on she isn’t really happy about. Like “ you are hurting my friend!”

Not chew friendly. Fibres kept falling off and I threw it away after just one day. Such a pity because my dog loved the squeaker sounds.
