I have used Shure gooseneck mic before. I needed additional one and I did not wanted to spend new higher price of Shure gooseneck that I had bought previously. I am glad I bough this one because sound quality is equal if not better. My only complaint is it says 18" long but when I compared side by side with Shure 18" gooseneck it was longer at least by 2 to 3 inch if not more. So, I am not sure how BOYA measures 18" ? I love the On/Off switch on my model with light indicator; which my Shure does not have. It's an excellent troubleshooting feature to know if mic is getting power or not and the fact that mic is on. I highly recommend this product but make sure to get the correct model, GM18CB There is another model, GM18C; which one of my friend bought and I tried it out and it does not work well. That model had blue color neck just before end of mic. One minor issue I noticed when one specific individual talks there is follow up base hissing sound. Not sure why that is happening. But, same mic another individual uses to lecture and it works perfect.

Simple- Excellent. Wanted an easy to use, flexible, high quality sound mic with a solid base for use on different podiums and the BOYA delivered on all fronts. The condenser mic is one of the very best I've ever used, and I've used a lot. Can't beat it at this price point! I bought and tested several in this price range and this one was hands down the best. It breaks down and stores in its' box easily / nicely. Battery life is good, but be sure to always carry extras! It will not slip off podiums. It has a simple lighted on-off button. I have run with various PA speakers and it works great. I waited to write this review for 6 months and all is still excellent. In fact I think after seeing it in action a number of other people have purchased as well.

At this price point, I wasn't expecting the performance of a studio or stage mic. With a little audio processing in the DAW, though, it sounds pretty good. I bought it for a group podcast for the producer mic. The on/off lights gobble up the 48v power from a wireless connection, but hooked up to a regular mixer, it's great.

Well-made product; good frequency response. Two things that are not obvious in the description: There is an obnoxious and unnecessary little light at the top of the shaft (easy to cure with black electrical tape); and the shaft only flexes at the top and bottom. It is a solid rod in the middle.

This works really well for classroom environments. We use it for Sunday school class and connect it to a Presonus which connects to a laptop for live streaming.

It just never worked, tested many times, other mics work, this one is just garbage, the problem is, I tested it months after purchased it. So, surprise, I cannot be refunded... Please dont buy!! I feel scammed.

Good product but you must have additional chord and speaker. Nothing documented about this in information. This makes it much more expensive.

I got this mic for a low budget production show. I needed a podium mic. I have used Shure and Sennheiser goose neck mics before and was worried about the quality of this mic. But WOW. It sounds great. The other cheaper options I have tried before were terrible and has little mid and low range. This one was very close to a professional podium mic. Love it! And the fact that you can use phantom power OR battery.... awesome! Worth the money!!

Super sensitive mic

Build quality is reasonable, although one of the units I purchased had a faulty LED ring around the capsule. The neck and base were robust and the socket and switch seemed to be of good quality. The signal to noise ratio was poorer than anticipated which makes this a non-starter for recording or PA use. It may be acceptable in a video conference setting.
