The front lays open about an inch. I would have liked if it had closed over but I guess that's really not the point of it. I was surprised by the bralette because it is really flattering and very pretty. The thong is of matching lace so it is elegant. The quality of the material is gorgeous, feminine and very soft. I had to fix those parts in which you insert the waistband, put them higher so that the waistband would actually go around the waist. It was not difficult but still :( Originally it was set too low, didn't look elegant at all, and in my case everything stayed open at the top, literally falling out the robe (sorry) lol. I could not wear it like that. So, after I had fixed it, it became better, but still not perfect. It was designed in a way that the two parts would meet right at the edge, but I wanted one part overlap the other obviously, at least a little, like a regular robe. So, when I try to do it, it opens after time, and I have to fix it again and again. Kinda annoying.
