3.5W Solar Fountain Pump for Water Feature Outdoor DIY Solar Bird Bath Fountain with Multiple Nozzles, Solar Powered Water Fountain for Garden, Ponds, Fish Tank and Aquarium

Based on the reviews, two factors influenced me to buy this model; the changeable heads for the different spray effects, and the switch to vary the pump speed. The shipment arrived in good order, all the parts were included, and the instruction pamphlet was legible and easily understandable. There is only one downtick I might mention. The inserts that create the different spray patterns are made of a translucent plastic and stamped with the letter of the alphabet corresponding to the spray patterns illustrated on the instruction sheet. The stamped letters are extremely difficult to see. Each time I determined which piece was which, I used a permanent marker and wrote the letter on the piece. I kept the flow issues from other reviews in mind and turned the pump speed select from MAX to MIN. I had installed the pattern pieces E and I for the pattern of four individual spouts in a fan pattern. While putting the spray heads on, the solar cells were toward the sun and I could feel the pump immediately start to hum. The fountain started to pump immediately. The initial fan spray was contained and fell back into the birdbath. After about three minutes the pump sort of hiccupped and caught a good prime at which point the spray flow increased to the height where the water fell outside the bath or else was caught in the strong spring breeze and blew outside the catch zone. I changed to sprayer J and it seemed to contain the spray at first, but the pump output increased and settled into a flow rate that went high and fell outside the catch zone. It doesn't show well in the first photo but the spray extends to the top of the picture border. In the second picture, the spray reaches as high as the road in the background. I estimate the spray height to be 24". In summary, it performs admirably and as promised. It just outperforms the capacity of our 20" diameter birdbath! I bought two of these, so I am going to experiment with putting a flow restrictor in one of the sprayers...and then shop for a larger birdbath!

Absolutely love this fountain!!! Just got it today, so can speak for how it holds up longevity wise, but straight out of the box it’s wonderful!! Tried all the different fountain tops, which all offer thrilling and pleasant streams of various types and soothing running water sounds subtle and lovely. This is my first solar fountain and after playing around with it, I realize that it would be good to have one that either has a solar panel extension and or a battery pack option for when it’s in the shade/night time use. Works great in the sun with a vigorous fountain steam and in partial sun or shade offers a toned down fountain stream as lovely as the full sun streams. I’m obsessed with this fountain and can’t wait to get a few more to set up around the house. Def recommend, but know that it won’t work in the full shade and or at night, if you want a fountain that runs in shade or at night, be sure to look into a solar fountain that has a battery option for night use and or a storage bank, or an option for an extension solar panel. Love this one regardless though. Very happy with it and would recommend.

This solar pump is super simple to operate - literally just pull out the stablizer arms/legs, turn the switch and plop in the water. Suction cups on bottom also help it stay in place. It started right up when the sun was out and from my perspective had plenty of "umph" for a decent sized spray. Nice array of a lot of different spray options. I just randomly pulled several nozzles out and tried a few as it was not intuitive to me what each nozzle would do. After a few months the operation became spotty and I would sometimes have to pick up and move the pump around to get it working - this could possibly be from say some dirt or debris getting lodged somewhere, or perhaps from the pump running dry when the water level was low and not replenished for a day, I'm not sure. The sputtering may be from operator negligence - I did not baby the pump (for example, I did not manually turn off the switch at night or when I'd be gone for a more than a day and aside from fishing out the occasional leave I did not really do any serious cleaning of my bird bath. I turned it off for the winter and we'll see what happens when I start it up again in the spring - overall, it seemed a decent value and decent product and I would likely buy again.

LOVE this little solar fountain! I've had several from different suppliers & this one has a great solar power source, worked right out of the box & while it does slow down some in the shade, it still keeps working. Very easy to assemble, the moveable arms keep it centered in the bowl & all the different nozzle options are great to find the one you like best. It does pump strongly when in full sun, so you may have to fill bird bath bowl daily, but that's better for the birds & bees to have fresh water anyway. Should be simple to clean, has a small sponge-type filter inside the pump which is easily accessible. Now just curious to see how long it lasts, as my last one worked for nearly three full seasons (May to Oct). Overall, very please with this purchase!
