The Day Louis Got Eaten (Andersen Press Picture Books)

Awesomely Funny Book
Great illustrations with excellent story. One silly monster eats the next silly monster in a series of improbable events. Meanwhile, Louis is stuck in the belly of the smallest monster. Big sister Sarah invents great contraptions to try to catch the monsters and free her brother. My 2 and 5 year old both love it. Also, Louis' big sister is a great feminist role model. She has courage, great mechanical skill and practical clothing.

My voracious 4 year old reader literally cannot stop talking about this book. It has been read over and over. He sprung it on unsuspecting visitors all weekend trying to get an extra read in ~ whenever possible. "The Day Louis Got Eaten" is Thrilling, Funny, inventive and full of wonderfully clever Illustrations - a joy to read even the 20th time same day!

Wonderful, detailed illustrations and a funny, sweet story. Highly recommended.
This book is so good. My nearly-four-year-old absolutely delights in it, and so do I. We giggle over the names of the creatures; we pore over the clever and detailed pictures; we cheer on the brother and sister who rescue each other so cleverly. It's one of my all time favorites, of the hundreds and hundreds of picture books I've read to my kids.

Of all the books I have read to my Hong ...
Of all the books I have read to my Hong Kong 4y.o. granddaughter, this is the first one she asks "read it again".Find the clues on the page of the up coming monster and add JAWS music. She loves it.

beautiful new classic!
We love this book! WE rented it from the library and after reading it multiple times a day, I knew I had to add it to our permanent collection. A definite favorite with funny made-up words and a storyline that promotes step-by-step thinking and logic skills.

We love this imaginative and and whimsical book
We love this imaginative and and whimsical book. And, as a parent, it is delightful to see a strong female character who uses her inventive engineering skills to rescue her little brother, instead of an all-too-common helpless princess motif.

Fun and entertaining
Our four grandchildren, ages 3, 5, 7, and 9 years old, all will listen to me read this story. They continue to laugh out loud, even after hearing it read to them many times. As the grandparent-doing-the-reading, I love it also for the illustrations!

Gorgeous Story
I bought this to read to my 3 year old grandson using face time. He has his own copy to follow and look at the pictures. We are hundreds of miles apart and it's been highly successful. The story is funny and slightly scary and his name is also Louis.
