This is a pictures book for someone who knows nothing about cranes, perhaps as old as 12 or 13. I was looking for an adult book that discusses the biology and lifecycle of herons and egrets. There are tons of great photos of cranes and some grade-school factoids about them, but maybe 25% of the book is about herons and egrets and the details on their lifecycle are all things you can find from a quick scan on Cornell’s website allaboutbirds.org. I’m planning on returning this book to Amazon.
