I am saying this as an Iraqi refugee and permanent resident in the United States who lived through the horors of war in Iraq witnessing stories of resilience like this one and then came to the US hoping to build a future for my family, become a proud American citizen and become a good member of this respectful society that values facts, knowledge, perseverance and helping others.The next generation needs to know the crucial importance of peace and needs to learn how devastating war can be, without being traumatized or terrified by the stories of these wars. And I think, that for the children of the world's most powerful nation, as well as other children, this book is the right first step. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wonderful story. The main reason it doesn't get five stars from me is that the illustrations are a bit dull and they don't have enough variation to grab kids' attention, but it is definitely worthwhile. There is real discussion of bombs dropping and other realities of war that are often too glossed over in children's books. It doesn't name any names about who is at war with whom or why. The focus is on saving the books and understanding the impact on people of any ar. That is probably a good thing.
