Talismans & Evocations of the Golden Dawn

This book explains the Golden Dawn system for evocation, usually almost unknown. Gives the rites and plenty of information. Book doesn't cover pronunciation so some background is required in the GD system to cover. Book has a summoning of the Spirit of Mercury as an example, and I'm glad I got this book. Quit the night and seek the day!The book also has info on talismans.

I am quite fond of Zalewski's work, I have bought most of it.

Pat Zalewski is one of the few authentic adept authors out there in the hermetic tradition. This book is simply essential. But you already should know that. An expansion of the Z documents and the basis of magic in the Order of the Golden Dawn. After the Z-Docs and the Hermetic Flying Rolls (which is not some occult sushi) this book is essential and helps the new adept cope with many of the ambiguities of the ZEDs that are now over a hundred years old.

Der Autor ist diesbezüglich kein unbekannter. Diese Zusammenstellung erachte ich jedoch eher als mäßig. Dabei fehlen gewisse Grundlagen.Beispielsweise finden wir die Bezeichnung der hebräischen Glyphen in unserer Schrift vor, ohne die original hebräischen Glyphen und deren Verbindungen hinzu zu fügen. Auf der anderen Seite sind hebräische Illustrationen gegeben, doch die Darstellung des ursprünglichen Alphabetes und deren Schreibweise unter Einbeziehung der entsprechenden Korrespondenzen fehlt.Auch die Aufarbeitung der Illustrationen wäre sicherlich kein Fehler. Einige farbige Abbildungen sollten einbezogen werden, zumal es auch in diesem Bereich durchaus reizvolle Darstellungen gibt. Die 'Magischen Waffen' und Talismane könnten dann in einem erweiterten Kontext betrachtet werden.Ein Buch zu einem solchen Thema sollte meines Erachtens eine effizientere Bearbeitung erfahren!
