I did spray WD-40 on them everyday for a week prior to receiving the bar, if that helped IDK I still had trouble taking em off, but once they were it was a breeze installing the bull bar. It went right into the tow hook slots. I did need another person to hold it in place while I bolted it down. It says you can paint the under plate, but I kept it red. The only thing I don't like about this is how my front license plate looks hanging where it's designed to go...I ended up putting it on my bumper where it originally went, but it's partially blocked.
