Update, 12/27/2018: I have now reordered and received the same cellphone holster. After using this holster seven days a week, for just under a year, the only thing wrong with it is that the dark brown exterior finish on the cover flap is wearing off (see photo). Considering the low cost of this quality product, and the heavy daily use I’ve subjected it to, I still give it a full five stars, even with the aforementioned cosmetic issue.See my original review, below.I have an iPhone 8, wrapped in an OtterBox Symmetry case, The OtterBox puffs the iPhone 8 up to approximately 7/16” thick, by approximately 5 3/4” long, by approximately 2 7/8” wide. The Kiwitata case (holster) is designed to hold an uncased iPhone 8 Plus, but it holds my OtterBox-cased iPhone 8 pretty well.Even with the OtterBox case, the phone sets about a half inch too low in the Kiwitata holster, making it difficult to remove. The good news is, Kiwitata packs the holster with a three inch wide slab of throw away, white styrofoam. I cut off the bottom half inch of the foam, used a Sharpie marker to color each end of the three inch wide strip, applied a small strip of double-sided tape to the bottom of it, and used my iPhone to press the repurposed foam to the bottom of the Kiwitata holster. The double-sided tape secures the foam to the bottom of the holster, and the Sharpie-darkened ends of the foam act as a sort of camouflauge. Now the iPhone 8 fits the Kiwitata holster perfectly.The holster itself appears to be well made. It has a nice soft lining, so as not to mar the phone, and a leather belt loop, which I like much better than one of those plastic clips that, more often than not, break off. As far as the stitching around the belt loop is concerned, because I always assume stitches will eventually wear out, come lose, and break, I apply a layer of super glue over the stitches, and to the points where the belt loop meets the case, just as a preventative measure.The rich brown color, and the overall appearance of this holster is easy on the eye, and it has a reasonably low sillouette. I’m 5’10”, have a medium build, and this case rides comfortably on my left hip. As yet, I haven’t experienced a problem with it riding so low that it makes contact with my car’s seat, or with my armchair. The flap is held closed with a nice strong magnet.So far, I really like this phone holster. If something happens that changes that opinion, I’ll update this review.

Excellent holster...the previous one I had used a plastic belt clip on the back. I caught it on the car seat belt and the thin (about the diameter of the lead in a #2 pencil) plastic "nipples" broke off and the phone and case fell off while I was getting out of the car. This case has the belt go thru the loop on back and also has a clip that goes on the pants belt loop for added security.The case itself is excellent and the magnet really keeps the flap in place.Update...The holster sits low on the hip and when I sat in my office chair or particularly in my car's bucket seat, the holster hits the seat and gets pushed up. In a week, the stitching on the bottom of the belt loop started to rip and there is no way to re-sew or reinforce it. This rendered the holster useless. If it sat higher on the hip, this wouldn't happen. I am now trying the eBuymore Black PU Leather Vertical CaseHolster with Belt Clip for Samsung Galaxy Galaxy S7 Edge / J5 J7 / One Plus 3 / Motorola Moto G4 Plus. It not only sits higher on my hip(thus doesn't get pushed up) but also has what I hope is a better design in attachment. A 1½ belt just fitsNew Update. This vendor (kiwitata) wrote to me and offered another holster. I explained that it would only tear again unless the belt loop was lowered about 18mm. They had one made and sent from China and the problem is solved. This is the most responsive vendor I have dealt with. Theydid all this for a $13 item....exceptional!New update...Kiwitata contacted me and offered to replace the holster that ripped but I told them it would only happen again unless the belt loop was lowered. They responded by having one made up and shipped from China. By lowering the belt loop, it no longer hits the seat and won't rip the stitching out!All this over a $13 dollar item...truly the most responsive and customer oriented vendor I have encountered...they deserve more than the 5 stars I am now upgrading to but that's as high as allowed

I had high expectations for this case but alas was saddened by its construction.It feels like thick heavy duty cardboard covered by a very thin layer of vinyl likematerial. I mean this case is hard, hard, hard. There is no softness about it.It looks like good quality but I am concerned about the inner lining which is not soft.I worry that over time the screen of my cell phone will scratch from putting it in the case andtaking it out.If you do not have this concern, this is a case for you. Attractive and reasonable price. My plans were not to use the belt loops or clasp but just to keep it in my carry bag.

My purse doesn't have a cell phone pocket, so I got this holster to protect my phone. I have it inside the purse (so it doesn't look dorky) clipped to the strap (so it stays put). My phone is not only protected from bumps and scratches but its always in the same place so there's no digging around to get to it. It is the perfect size for a Samsung S7 with a slim case on it. The holster is very stiff when you first get it but loosens up quickly. I just bent it this way and that by hand for a few minutes until my phone would slide in easily.I tried using this to carry my phone on my daily walk but I think the magnetic clasp might interfere with the GPS because my fitness app because the mileage won't track correctly anymore. But that could be an issue with the phone more than the holster. I can't say for sure.Anyway, I'm really happy with this purchase and think its a really good value for a real leather item. The only possible improvement would be to add a small slot inside for ID & credit cards so they don't come flying out when I take out the phone.

OVERALL... Sturdy, nice finish, beltloop a bit to wide bay maybe 3/4" on a standard belt, that causes it to strain on the loop. But well made and that may not matter over time.I would buy again for iPhone Xr with a skin on it, otherwise, it's too big for just the phone alone. But that's better than too small.

Bought it for an iPhone 8 - but it's a bit too big, hard to get the phone out.

As tough as it looks, I find it difficult to remove my phone (an LG X Power 3). My old holster (that broke) was much more maneuverable but a lot more expensive too. This just feels very stiff and I really have to pry my phone out. Maybe it'll loosen over time? I don't know. Otherwise, I made a mistake thinking this was a metal clip holster but it's not. It's actually a belt loop, the picture of the holster is misleading to me, but it's my own dumb fault for not reading up on it properly.Otherwise, it does what it's designed to do and the price is good so I guess I can't complain.

I was quite disappointed to see how quickly this had deteriorated. I was lucky that I noticed it was down to it's final thread when I did as I could have easily lost my phone on a bike ride. There are other similar products out there, find one that has better reviews for duribility.
