How does the stem detach?

Just twist back and forth until comes off. The little silver ring also comes off as a separate piece so be sure to not lose it.

Are you suppose to use both the percolator and silver screen at the same time? Also, what is the cork for?

Never used. I would smoke without at first to see how it is. If leaks I would use a screen.. The cork is to tap the tobacco out of the pipe so no damage to the pipe.

Good deal

It is a nice pipe, I will say I did have a small Crack/blemish on the outside of the bowl, it was filled with wood filler and did not extend to the inner chamber. Overall it's a natural product so expect maybe a flaw. But a great smoking pipe.
