Q: Can it be dried in the dryer after washing?

Line dry out of direct sunlight or drip dry only to protect the properties of the Sofsheep Sheepskin. Once dry the wool may be combed or brushed with a hard wire brush if needed. Dryers are very hard on the Sheepskin and can damage the product.

Q: How thick is this pad? Does it replace the wheelchair pad or is it made to be placed over the original pad.

Thank you for your inquiry. The thickness of the pad can vary slightly due to the nature of different skins, but it is approximately 1 inch. The pad is designed to go over the seat cushion and has elastic straps to secure it in place.

Q: I thought this product was machine washable. I washed it recently and let it dry out in the sun, the seat cushion shrink so much it's unusable. why?

The usual cause is washing in hot water. The Sheepskin needs to be washed in a gentle cycle in cold or lukewarm water with a mild detergent containing no enzymes. To "fluff" the wool you can use a wire brush such as a pet brush. We hope this helps to answer your question.
