Very easy to fly, stable and precise
I got this drone because I wanted something I can fly indoors. I started with a bigger drone, but it was not precise enough to fly indoors. This drone is tiny and very accurate. It is very easy to fly indoors, and in fact I've been flying it all over the house. I had a good impression of Syma already because I owned a Syma RC helicopter a while back, and it was impressively easy to fly. This drone is even better. The battery doesn't last long, about 5 minutes worth of flight time. But it is a fun 5 minutes. You'll get the thing back on the charger and can't wait for the next flight. The manual says it takes 70 minutes to charge, but it doesn't seem to take that long. Maybe 30 or 45 minutes? I haven't timed it, but it's not super long. It's pretty average for a drone. Most "toy" drones take 45 minutes or an hour to charge for 5-7 minutes of flight time.My first flight did not go well. The drone was not calibrated to the controller to hover in place, and was drifting fast to the left and forward, but the controller can be calibrated to fix that. Better still, it remembers the calibration even when powered off. So once I got it calibrated, which took me a few flights and crashes, then it remembered the calibration setting, and I haven't had to adjust it since. This is great news! Now I just turn it on, take off, and it hovers happily in place. It is very easy to fly. I can land it anywhere I want, pretty much. The controller has two different sensitivity settings, and the low sensitivity is perfect for indoors. However, the drone can also be flown outdoors! I was skeptical about this, since it's so light and easily blown about by the wind, but at the high sensitivity setting on the controller, the drone easily has enough power to compensate for light winds. I wouldn't try it in strong wind, but light breezes are no problem.I have actually taken to flying it outdoors more than indoors lately, because it is maneuverable, fast, and stable. I almost lost it on one outdoor flight. I took it really far, and I finally decided to just pull it down from the sky where it was, because it was almost out of sight behind some trees. I ended up crashing it on the roof of a tall building. It hit the roof pretty hard, bounced (yes, bounced!), and took to the air again. I continued cutting power because I didn't know which way it was oriented, and the drone vanished from view somewhere near the building. It found it after about 10 minutes of searching. It had crash landed upside down in the grass about 20 feet from the roof. There was some dirt on the blades, but no other visible damage. I wiped the dirt off with my fingers, powered it up again and the drone was happily back to the air. A+ for crash resistance.Someone commented that the drone has backward lighting compared to the normal. This drone has red lights in front and green lights in back, which is opposite compared to other drones. That can take some getting used to. The drone has a trick mode and can do flips. It's pretty fun.Overall, this easily gets 5 stars. Fantastic flying experience.

Awesome Pocket Drone at a Great Price
Though drones have been around for a few years, they don't get old or tired and are fun for young and old. I enjoy my electronics quite a bit so when I spotted this on Amazon and at the price it was listed - how could I not buy it? The drone arrived within 1-week of placing the order, and arrived packed very well in an outer box with bubble-wrap keeping it safe in the outer box.The box the drone came in is also very sturdy and something that would look good given as a gift.Once you get the drone out of the box, it comes in a plastic tray (like every other product out there). The drone along with the controller, a USB cable (to charge the drone) and some spare propellers should the ones on the drone become damaged from too much play.Once everything is out of the box and laid out you have the drone (I got a gold color drone and LOVE IT the white propellers really give it contrast. The drone is well built and very light. The legs have rubber stoppers at the bottom so when it lands it does not damage the drone. The back of the drone has a USB outlet as you need to charge the drone for about 70-minutes to get 5-minutes of use.You get a user manual -- which I recommend you read as there is some important information in there (connecting [pairing] the controller to the drone, how to turn the drone on/off, controlling the drone (move left/right, forward/backwards), how to use hover mode. There is also information on low-voltage protection (when the battery on the drone is low), over-current protection (when the drone encounters an impact), calibration, fast/slow speed and of course how to do a 360-degree stunt flip.If you are someone that likes to tinker, they also provide a good breakdown of the drones assembly (though I wouldn't be disassembling this).Four additional propellers are provided, in addition to a mini Phillips screwdriver is also provided so you can unscrew the controller and insert the batteries (you will need 4 AAA batteries -- they are not provided). Now I was really excited to try the drone out so didn't wait the full 70-minutes to let it charge. For the most part using the controller is intuitive, you have two joysticks on the controller (left and right) along with a button to fine-tune the movement, and an on/off button . On the front of the controller you have two more buttons for high/low speed and a very cool feature 360-degree stunt flip button! Another cool feature is an auto hover mode. You can even use the drone indoors, which is how I was using it and once the weather improves I'll try it outside as well.As you play with the drone be careful of the propellers - they rotate very fast and you could hurt yourself if you are not careful but that said, using common sense would avoid hurting yourself and damaging the drone.Having played with the drone for about 1-2 weeks, I can say that this is one of the best purchases I've made. The drone is nice and small, charges within an hour and gives you enough time to play. I am probably going to buy a second drone for my son and we'll race these!
