it is a lovely pen, but first thing you need to do with these pens is a good through cleaning. just basically flush it through with water with the nib off and wipe the nib out. lamy do test before they leave the factory, but that testing ink can sometimes stay behind and drys up giving a not so great performace. i did mine today and after being annoyed at poor performance i would rate it a 10/10 now

It is a great pen to learn handwriting, keep in mind that LAMY nib sizes are thicker than usual, so EF is F, F is M, M is think and so on

I don’t use a fountain pen for any form of fancy writing. I suffer from arthritis in my hand and it is painful to write for even short period. I work in the NHS and a doctor suggested trying one. My first cost £2 at a supermarket chain but now want something up a notch spent the past hour writing up notes the odd twinge but amazing. The grip is a revaluation smooth and effortless writing. I got this for a bargain price as trail run before spending more money but Santa will have a lamp on my list. It might not help everyone but do what I did start with cheap and cheerful if it helps step up SO THANKS SELLER AMAZON AND A BIG THANKYOU TO LAMY MAYBE I WILL ENJOY WRTING AGAIN

It doesn't leak, is easy to use, and the colour really looks great in person. Will definitely stand out from other pens.

This pen was amazingly smooth, very notably. It feels fantastic to write with, but i prefer the caps on pens completely off the pen to avoid the weight on the rear of the pen. I like its solid yet light weight, and it’s colour is more of an orangey gold

Fast shipping, well packaged, and exactly as described—I’m highly satisfied with this purchase and would buy again. The Lamy Al Star Bronze Color pen is impressive: the body is all metal except for the smokey plastic ergonomic feed section, and the lightweight feel is both a plus and a minus. I was initially concerned the body might be plastic, but you can tell by touch that it’s metal, and it warms nicely in your hand after a while. The ergonomic grip is fantastic; I absolutely love it. The pen arrived in a distinctive Lamy black box, which added to the experience. I liked that the ink cartridge was already inside the pen (but unpunctured), with a clearly marked spacer that needed to be removed before use—this kept everything neat and secure. The medium point lives up to its reputation, producing as fine a line as my other fine point pens, which makes me curious about the fine point version I ordered. My main complaint is that no directions came with the pen. Also, I recommend using a converter from the start because the modern ink cartridge design involves a plastic ink feed tube that could break if you’re not careful when inserting cartridges. In every way a fine pen. Recommendable. After two years of moderate use, the paint starts to wear off. Therefore, I'm taking away one star, from 5 to 4.
