Zippo Heroes Lighters

Appeared used; NOT windproof; barely worked
For starters, there is no way for me to contact the seller. If there were, I would have chosen to give them a chance to fix the problem prior to writing a review. I must say that the lighter is beautiful. As a Desert Storm disabled vet, I was really looking forward to get this product. The problem is that I wanted to enjoy it's beauty AND functionality. I have used many Zippo lighters in the past and never had a problem with them. They functional well in the field, which is good enough for me. Unfortunately, when I opened the lighter it appeared to have been used. There were a couple of small rust stains inside. I decided to give it the benefit of the doubt and filled it with Zippo brand fluid, as recommended. It worked "okay" for a few days and since has been hit or miss whether it was going to light even slightly. It is definitely NOT windproof either. The slightest breeze puts it out. My hope after writing the review? That the seller will contact me to exchange it and hope that the new one is actually new and functions. I hope you all have better luck!

Who doesn't like a Zippo?
Must have two dozen or more Zippos. Some old. Some plain. And some unique styles, like this one. The "Gladiator" helmet with the thin blue line? Classic in the making. Shucks, I might never even put fluid in it, but ya never know. Zippo lighters are famous for their reliability and ability to provide a good flame. And if I get a belt attached carrying case for my lighters, rather than carrying one in my pocket, I'll use this one too. Any Zippo is a good one.

I have 3 boys serving in the military and these are perfect!
6 years ago I bought three of these zippo lighters. One for each of my military son's who are serving. They still have them and they are as beautiful as the day gifted them! Very sturdy and beautifully made! My son just sent me a picture of it today (Dec 6th 2018) - he's planning on getting it engraved with the date I bought it (July 6th 2012).

Beautiful design and quality!
I purchased this a while back for my dad, but had to come back to write a review. This is a VERY nice gift to give to someone who is or once was in the military. It was a lot smaller than I expected (which the measurements I'm sure were probably noted and no, I didn't read, so my fault there), but the design and quality quickly took my focus away. My dad is a VERY difficult man to get gifts for. If he likes or wants something, he gets it for himself, which makes it hard for anyone to know what to get him for his birthday, etc. He openly told me though that this was the first gift in a long time, if ever, that he both needed and wanted. So, it's now very special to me as well. Thank you!

Another solid Zippo lighter
I've never grown fond of the throw away butane lighters. It takes a little time to fill and properly set up a Zippo but the results are worth it.No matter what the conditions my lighter is ready and useful. It is a part of my winter survival kit. I have one in my glove box. This was a gift to a dear friend that served in Desert Storm. I was unsure how it would be accepted but have never seen anything like it.It was accepted very well and is very much appreciated. This works the same as any Zippo. It has the same solid case, uses the same lighter fluid, uses the same flint, has the same flint storage tube.

Thank you Vets xo
... and Thank you Zippo for devoting your time to making such a great design. My husband was injured in Iraq and few things spark his interest now a days. He's a fisherman and a vet and didnt have a Zippo! This lighter had great detail and the center emblem looks like a mini challenge coin, which was great because he collects them. It fit perfectly in the Zippo leather case I bought separately. It clips perfectly on his PT belt, and he cherishes it like his gun. +10 for me! ;) ;)

Durable and Meaningful
I bought this for a friend of the family who recently retired from the Marines. He LOVES it, I haven't seen him without it since I got it for him in 2012. He puts effort in to maintaining it and always keeping it filled. The metal hasn't lost its color at all but the engravings have work down a little from constantly being in his pocket or in his hand. It's nice to see something so little and so inexpensive mean so much to someone.I bought the silver one.

Well made
Bought as a gift. Lovely design if you're into military history. It's well made as most zippo lighters are..and one for a collector. Delivered in a day as well, very pleased with this product

Good looking an reliable
I tried to purchase this lighter in the US but could not get it delivered to Germany for warranty reasonsso I was glad when I saw it offered by amazon UK. The lighter is quite sturdy, it is one of the few ZipposI have where the lid did not bend when it accidentially dropped to the floor. The pewter plating and the enamel partare nicely done and very dertailed. Good looking, usual high Zippo quality, great as collectors item as well as for everyday use.
