I had the pleasure of going through the contents of the book & it was a pleasant surprise for me, to say the least. Having seen the televised version of the epic during my growing-up years and various perspectives, later on, I was a bit skeptical, as to what new can this book offer? However, having read the author's earlier works I was expecting a new outlook & I must confess I was not disappointed. True to his writing style, Dr.Nair has decoded the inherent reasons that led to the final outcome of the epic battle. The comparison of the strengths & weaknesses of each character, the primary motives, the preparation & mindset is all done in a very unique style.Every chapter offers learnings, which for me acted as a summary of sorts. Mahabarata is timeless, so is this book.It is said only classics can stand the test of time, for me this is THE ONE.

1st, really appreciable that you could muster courage to write this epic in easy to understand way.2nd, I have purchased all the 5 Volumes and just finished the 1st volume today. I became a fan of Dr KRS Nair, after reading this book. I am reading his books on various topics over a period of time. The way, he narrates the story as well as carries the reader, gives a lot of pleasure to read. While I read Mahabharata in my childhood, reading now with a specific explanation, gave lot of clarity and understanding. At the end of each story, the points, under ‘What’s in it?’, are really useful in daily life. A best book to read and introspect. I am eagerly waiting for the coming books.

There is a wealth of information in this book. It is also very interestingly written, a true page turner. Very engrossing. This book should not just be read but studied well.

The book gives a new perspective to the epic Mahabharata; different from what we have seen on the television during our childhood.The idea of Dr Nair to summarise each chapter in the form of 'What's in it for me' is fabulous. These one liner were akin to pearls of wisdom.

When all members of a family works against each other and there is no integration among them like Bhishma pitamah side then defeat is definite. In recent senario it is universal truth. Everyone should work independently for one right and unanimous goal and respect daughter in law...

I'm hooked to this series. Although, I know this epic inside out, I still enjoy and learn so much from this series.

Really, it's Gems of Dr. Nair. In this book, Author has given so much inside facts about our famous epic. A good book to read.
