Wanted to get make some presents for Christmas this year as $ is tight. Found this on Amazon and I figured why not try it out? The kit comes with everything you need (thread, needle etc) but the wooden hoop broke when I was in the middle of making this so I’ve been finishing it without the use of a hoop. It’s quick to make (I’m just about done and I’ve been working on it for an average of 2 hours a night over 5 nights). I’m curious how it will go when I wash it to get the colors out. Hopefully, I won’t have wasted time & $ !!!!

Wonderful little beginner's kit! My nine-year-old completed it all by himself once shown what to do. (It did take him several months.) He was delighted with the finished product and loved watching the ink grid and printing wash away from the fabric. The included frame is nice to have. He did need a needle threader, which was not included.

I love to cross stitch and have been doing it for years, so my tween daughter was interested in trying it out. I bought her this kit to help her get started. I love the way the thread was packaged and how the cloth was printed. However, there are minimal instructions on how to actually cross stitch. This would be a good kit if you already knew the basics, but definitely not for someone who was brand new to cross stitching. I was able to show my daughter what to do, and she’s enjoying doing it, but I would not buy this again for someone brand new to the craft.

Not at all for beginners. I've never cross stitched a day in my 30 years but decided it sounds fun. This was on sale for 8 bucks so I figured it wouldn't really be a loss if I don't like it. But I literally can't even figure it out. First- the instructions are all over the place (see the pictures I've attached). They start talking about choosing strands and colors without any context, so you're reading about the difference between 11ct and 14ct and then it immediately tells you how to choose the thread color. Cool, you think it would go in to how to do what youre doing next, but it just tells you how to identify the colors and match them to the strands. Then, the instructions also have different stitches listed. None of them are listed as "full stitch", but that's the only thing that the cloth and the paper (I'm still not sure why the paper is here because it's the exact same as the cloth, just on paper?). So I'm not even sure which stitch I'm supposed to be using. I tried to YouTube it but felt rather overwhelmed by the lack of information and then the flood of information that doesn't makes sense compared to what I'm holding. To top it off, the "frame" is a plastic ring and a cardboard backing. The backing won't fit in to the frame when the cloth is inserted. So it's absolutely useless. I was really looking forward to trying out a new hobby too. Bummer.
