The shampoo itself is okay. Not amazing. Not terrible. As a groomer for 15 years and salon owner, I decided to try the shampoo purely because it claimed to be tearless and would be great to have for those in need of a nose to tail oatmeal. I generally wouldn't step outside my trusted professional brands, but thought I would give it a shot on my own pets and see what happens, as I have found an amazing private brand on here before. After having a pet end up with chemical burn on the cornea many years ago after blindly using a "tear free" product, I am super careful using new products and always test them on myself first. This means putting the sud on my own eye. Not straight shampoo, but diluted sud just as it would be on a pet. This shampoo not only burned like heck, but caused irritation and burning that lingered long after a 10 minute flush. I was hesitant of its claim from the beginning, as essential oils, humectants, emollients, etc, generally do not have the composition to be tearless, but I thought it a dangerous claim to be untested or flat out incorrect. Unfortunately. It is indeed a dangerous and flat out false claim. Do NOT allow this shampoo to get anywhere near your pets eyes. If I notice a dog has dry skin, I will use this shampoo. I can't confirm or deny that it helps with itching. I haven't been using it long enough to notice in our regular clients.The shampoo works like a concentrate! The lather you get from this shampoo far exceeds any other product I use on the dogs. I feel like the dogs are getting a really good bath when I use this shampoo. I have several other shampoos that I use. None of which lather like this one! Plus, I don't need to use nearly the amount that I do with other products.Some say the fragrance is too strong. I don't see it that way AT ALL. I use other products that are much stronger. I feel this is a nice balance.In summary, this shampoo cleans your dog well. It smells nice. It lasts much longer because it seems to be fairly concentrated. If you like a nice lather, this is your shampoo!
